Yeah with the hassle of finding a really good fabricator and cutting/welding Ti... you’re probably better off just getting the midpipe and connector kit.
See if someone has a midpipe for sale from a damaged V1. |

What about just getting something like an AA midpipe? Seems like a popular combination: MPE + AA midpipe... or do you still need a section of the original MPE midpipe to bolt to?

- Sell the muffler and get a different axle back exhaust. There are plenty of people out there with cracked V1 MPEs who would probably be willing to buy a new rear muffler section and swap it out for the right price, assuming yours isn't a cracked V1 that has been repaired already. - Go to a fabricator to make a connection section to the mid pipe and muffler, but keep the exhaust passive without valves. It's going to be fricken loud, but at least you have an exhaust out of it. If you want the valves to work you're going to pay significantly more for the valves + bracket fab. Buying an extra stock muffler for ~$300 to cut out the valves with brackets may also be an option, assuming your fabricator would be OK with cutting & welding those in. I would ask first before buying one. Those are the 2 cheapest options I can think of to get you out of this. Personally, I'd just sell the MPE muffler for cheap and find something else. Midpipe sounds just fine with stock muffler until you find a buyer for the muffler and find a new axle back. |

^ this.
Exact issue I ran into when I tried to custom fab a midpipe for my MPE when I bought the muffler only. I went to a really good fabrication shop that did work with Ti and the amount of custom work that had to be done just made it cost prohibitive. I ended up just buying the midpipe and connecting pieces from Brit (shameless plug for bmwpartpros) and called it a day. |
