I was 10 years old and I was racing another kid on our bicycles. Speeding down a tight side street, I was following him close, he makes a quick swerve to the right, and BOOM... right into a tree a go!

Holy crap. While there is never a good time to street race, I know most of us have been guilty of it. That said, this was a very bad time. Where did they think they were going to go flying up on cars that fast with cars in every lane? If you're going to make a bad choice, at least make it at a better time.

I see this all the time on the streets in NY. 10-15 years ago it wasn’t this bad, but now quite often you’ll see these morons pulling the stuff in the video. It’s one of the reasons I’m looking to leave NY, but that’s a different topic. As these cars go down in value they become more attainable to anyone and they think they can use public roads as their race track. Don’t get me wrong....I love opening up the M4, but I’ll do it when roads are empty and conditions permit. There’s a time and place for this sort of stuff, not when innocent families are out and about.

It's not just in NY that this shit is getting out of control. We've had 2 separate trauma incidents over the last 10 days or so - both involved highway driving at speeds of 100mph+. Both were the result of the speeding car being unable to decelerate quickly enough to avoid the slower traffic they were approaching.

The most recent was just yesterday morning - 19yo driver, unknown make/model, crashed into slower traffic at around 8am.
