I spotted the same car (prototype F30 M3) on my commute home last night 16 April in Beverly Hills.
The car was heading West crossing Rexford on Santa Monica Boulevard at about 7:40 pm (where the B.H. Police station is). Too bad I was already in the left turn position to head East, I would have followed it for a while. I did get a chance to hear the distinctive exhaust note. Definitely a multi-turbo I-6. Hopefully the F30 M3 will be hanging out in the neighborhood and I'll have a chance at another sighting.

Yes, but still heavily camouflaged.

Wow! That's going to look really good when we get to see it without the camo!

Given recent news events, if all of America's military secrets have been supposedly hacked and are out in the open, I am surprised we don't know more on the upcoming M3/M4. The transparency should be palpable (there, I used transparency and palpable in the same sentence).

I've been listening to the F80 clips and I'm a bit baffled that I can't hear a single throttle blip at downshifts. This is one of the nicest audio sensations in the current M3. Why is that? Surely throttle blips isn't purely induction noise and should be heard at least on the outside an FI car as well? The ring clip where they have an E90 M3 together with the F80 highlights this the best. The E90s blips can be heard loud and clear at every corner entry while the F80 just produce a little fart. None of the FI cars I owned blipped the throttle so I have no reference.

Maserati V6 better than BMW I6 or V8? No way.
Everything depends just what they wan´t to make on factory, F10 M5 owners someone like pretty quiet stock sound and then is performance exhaust. 335i is family car, so quiet is better on stock and 1M was engineered so fast that they maybe have not time to tune exhaust. That Maserati sound like regular V6, I prefer hundred times more I6 engine sound which scream more higher tone and smoother. Some really want BMW sound like Maserati V6? |
