S55 sleeves

Are any of you running a sleeved block ? Anyone have thoughts on this matter ? Are the stronger , weaker , can they handle 36 PSI and any recommendation on who to have install ? I have heard of some guys running a N55 sleeved block buy not the S55 .
I have a complete melt down of cylinder 5 wall . Not sure if i should sleeve it or replace the block .

S55 is closed deck, N55 is open deck so sleeving is likely not a viable option on the S55 so far as I know. As far as handling a specific boost PSI, that's all relative a number of other factors(fuel, turbo size, other critical engine components). Further, the N55 has pressed in iron sleeves where the S55 has a coated aluminum cylinder wall, and not a separate cylinder liner.

Given that the S55 is closed deck I would rank it among the least likely points of failure in a high boost scenario

Sorry to hear.

Believe LA Sleeve supplied S55 sleeves for another forum member: https://www.lasleeve.com/auto-high-performance

Worth giving them a ring.
