I have always used top tier gas in my F80, and even run a bottle of injector cleaner (LiquiMoly Jectron) every 2500 miles since originally purchasing the car new - so my fuel system should be very clean. But even then, I would still be concerned about filtration if running E85. I like the PnP aspect of the BM3 kit over all of the other kits on the market. But I would still like to see a filter option, like what Bend makes. After quick internet search I found this below. While originally designed for a diesel engine application, I wonder could this (or something similar) work in an S55 application with minimal modification due to engine bay layout differences:

Bends filter system is top notch and would definitely purchase it as a standalone.

Don’t know, but I doubt it. They have some good info on their site about the use of filtration when running E85 though…

I also quite like my Bend kit. Easily one of the nicest and most thoughtful aftermarket components i've installed on any vehicle.
Do I know for certain that the extra filtration is necessary? No, i'm far from an expert but even the chance of fending off any fueling issues was absolutely worth the little bit of extra cost to me. Feels fairly similar to the crank hub issue of many not having any problems, but sometimes they do and it can get messy. Now that i'm at the point of running an E50 tune on Pure 2+ I don't really want to take many more chances.

I have the bend calibration kit with F80pauls custom flex tunes 3 slots and its amazing. I love not having to flash all the time or plan out my gas station stops...
This kit looks way easier to install, i'm sure you guys will love it.

PTF just released the unit for purchasing.
I wonder if Bend would hook me up with a simple filtration kit along with the PTF module If I buy it all from them. Might be worth reaching out.

Just browsing Bends website it looks like you can purchase the "Ultimate" Kit which seems to be the basic filtration system. So I assume pairing this with the PTF kit would be the ultimate solution.

However the additional cost would likely cover the additional labor since the BM3 sensor is a 5 minute install vs. the Zeitronix which takes 1-2 hours.

I just reached out to Bend to see what their opinions were and to see if theyll offer a kit as well since they are already a reseller of BM3. I would like to know before I pull the trigger on the standalone PTF unit.

There's a lot of excitement about this flex kit, but I haven't seen any mention that MultiMap CustomROMs will add power to Stage 1/2 respectively. Does anyone have any data that points that customROM maps will create more power with FlexFuel on Stage1/2 or just adjust timing so that the cars still operate with different types of fuel at the same power levels??

Sucks he just skipped your question. But looks like the Bend Ultimate kit for the filter and the bm3 flexfuel would be the best combo?

If we are running E85 now, just absent a sensor, and add a sensor, why the sudden push for more filtration? It seems we’ve lost sight of the intended functionality of the sensor… am I taking crazy pills here?
