GTS Performance Flash

I came across this and I had a few questions that maybe the community can help answer.

1) What settings does the GTS power steering change? All of them or just Sport+? Does anyone have a breakdown of this?

2) How noticeable is the difference between Base MDM mode and GTS MDM mode?

Are there any drawbacks to this software flash?

The MDM difference is much better. Makes me a noob like me feel like I can kick the back out and slide a bit without dying 😄

I can only speak to 1 as I honestly didnt try the MDM mode before doing the gts flash. All modes are changed. Less of the dead feel on center, sharper and quicker steering. I am really happy that I did it.

Euro MDM mode is still very intrusive. I didn't notice much difference from USDM spec MDM.
Nothing is worse to me than throttle cut in the middle of a power slide. I usually just turn it all off if I want to go sideways. Everything else in the flash was well worth it but it makes the car lose some of its hard edge.

What do you mean when you say it makes the car lose some of its hard edge? Are you referring to the CS dampening?

I feel exactly the same. I’m spending the time getting comfortable with DSC off to get the slip I want. I like how the dampers soaks up the bumps quickly too because the car isn’t as jittery over rougher roads

Id say the only drawback is that some people don't like how heavy the GTS steering gets in sport +. I say they are girly men who are way too used to over-boosted PS on NPC cars.

I just had this flash done, and for me, the most noticeable (and awesome) change is the DCT shift changes/smoothness and much more torque off the line. Highly recommend. And kubax86 is _The Man_ for coding. Use him, and don't think twice about it. He is responsive, effective and reasonably priced.

I thought the stock comp tune shifted way faster. The GTS flash is smoother though. Still nice and crisp in sport+ but completely neutered in sport and naturally, comfort mode...

The comp pack car is a highly strung tune in all modes, If that makes sense. It's fantastic for stretching the cars legs or highway driving. But for me the car is a daily and I can never reach more than 80 mph unless on a highway. So, I went with the GTS flash to clean up the DCT and dampers in sport and comfort mode. Sport+ on the GTS flash reminds me of standard sport mode on the comp pack tune. The steering I didn't really care about and I really don't get all the bitching people do about it. My E39 and my F82 have great steering feel like all BMW's I have driven.

It's basically like spinal tap where the comp pack turned it up to 11 and the GTS/CS flash brought it back to 10...

So I’m guessing you don’t lose performance?

I have no way of testing it but with the GTS flash AND PS4 star spec rear tires it seems much less squirmy off the line and accelerates faster from a dig. The standard comp pack seemed faster in a roll or on the highway when dropping gears.

Interesting. Wonder why the car would be slower when dropping gears… or why it would be slower when roll racing

I dunno. Probably because it's a trans tune for a completely different tuned motor. The standard comp back above 2nd gear definitely feels stronger, at least to me does. But it is a real pain to drive around in traffic with it. Each one has it's pros and cons to me.

I think you might have just convinced me not to do this mod

So if I upgrade the iDrive firmware down the road, that wouldn't affect the GTS flash would it?

No, it will only affect certain coding to the FEM modules. Trans, Diff, and dampers would remain unaffected.

GTS MDM mode allows you to have more slide angles before DSC kick in. If you enjoy driving on track and don't wanna risk trying DSC off, I will highly suggest you to try MDM. Stock mdm cut poower too soon at coner exit.

I was really surprised when I heard it negatively affected roll race performance! Anyone know the reasoning behind this?
