BMW M4 Coupe (F82) Profile Render (UPDATED)

Resident digital artist Jerry Alvarez has put together these speculative renders of the F82 M4 coupe.

The updated white M4 coupe render now incorporates the M6/1M styled front bumper with air curtain vents recently spied on the F80 M3 sedan. Not reflected in the renders however, is an expected sleeker front fascia and headlights (compared to the F30 3 series). The F82 M4 coupe is also expected to feature a carbon fiber roof.

The F80 M3 / F82 M4 will not be constructed extensively from carbon fiber (CFRP) as some earlier reports had speculated. Because this next generation M3/M4 began development two years ago, it's said to have been too early to take advantage of BMW's CFRP developments with the later introduction of the BMW i cars/project. The first model (besides the i cars) that will have extensive CFRP incorporated into its construction will be the next generation 7 Series, as reported earlier. Even without extensive CFRP construction, the next M3/M4 will be lighter than the current M3 sedan and coupe however, owing to its new aluminum chassis, and aluminum and reinforced plastic body panels.

The F82 M4 will share the same powertrain as the F80 M3 - an inline 6 cylinder engine with multiple turbochargers, pushing the engine's output to approximately 450 horsepowers.

We expect the M4 to hit the market no earlier than late 2014. For all M4 related news and info see: http://www.bimmerpost.com/?s=m4

what a great render, but not sure I like the profile more than the e92 M.. The e92 flows a lot better to me.

great work though

Seems like a very reasonable render. I'm not a fan, but then again I'm not a fan of the F30. But I think this is probably the closest thus far.

unless you want a quicker, lighter, probably better handling car and most likely 20%+ in fuel savings!

Thats why I am selling my C63 right now, leasing a 335 then in 3 years will get the new M3, sure it won't sound the same as that awesome V8 or put you back in your seat like the C63 does, but all around its going to be a better car, its just evolution...

You do realize the M3, M5 and M6 are also motorways in the UK?

The profile view looks sweet, sort of like a downsized M6.

The M3 is a road in the UK too, as is the M5 and indeed M6.

Alpina B5 was either joking, or being an idiot.

(Interestingly, the B5 is apparently the national highway of Namibia. Link)

Give or take, I think that's pretty much what it's gonna look like. Nice work.

The front end looks good, but the proportions where the roofline flows into the C-pillar don't seem quite right. I suspect there's some fairly heavy camoflage paneling that's hiding a longer rear quarter window, a slimmer C-pillar, and a longer decklid.

While it looks that way initially, people said the same thing when we were presented with an E46 > E9X comparison (..and the E36 > E46 comparison as well). We shall see!

P.S. That's a damn good render though.

Good render.. should be pretty close to the real thing i guess.. But one thing i'm sure of is that the new M3/M4 will prove, again, to set the standards of an umatched 'winning package' of ultimate performance, precision, and fun. Can't wait..
