It would be so much more pleasant to watch with a different host.

Yeah, nothing unpleasant about that vid.....enjoyable to watch. All good-natured fun and I got a little chuckle out of it, here and there.
I must have been on those same Mexican roads the past couple of days

At a toll plaza on the pike a tesla and my M3 arrived a the same time in two lanes that converged to one. Usually, I tend to floor it in this situation to make sure I get in front since the M3 can out accelerate 99.9% of cars out there. Roughly a 20-30mph rolling start. Floored it in 3rd. The Tesla driver had the same MO and he shot out in front of so fast I could not believe it. Even if I had downshifted to 2nd, I think the outcome would have been the same.
Pretty incredible acceleration on those Teslas. Still prefer my M3 though |

I see "Mexico" has changed a lot since I was last there Murray can be a bit of a tool, but he's just a dude having fun with his buddies and bringing along a camera. No harm there. Every time I see a tesla I have to remind myself I'm far more interested in killing more dead dinosaurs than succumbing to the electric bandwagon. Yes I know we still kill dinosaurs to make electricity but I like the satisfaction of doing it myself.

"What's wrong with nick" ... Nothing. He's just a car enthusiast that likes to goof around and play with cool stuff. Problem is he ran a video that some here on the M forum would rather not acknowledge, an M ass whoop.

My dad has a P90D Model S and it is on a whole different planet in terms of acceleration. Pair it with the crazy lack of noise and it is a treat for the senses. I like the internal combustion engine as much as the next guy, but there is no beating peak torque from the get go and all wheel drive.
Results wouldn't have been near as close had he put the Tesla in Ludicrous mode. |

I own both the M4 and the P90D, and I would hate to have to choose to only keep one.
I'm just a fan of great machines on wheels. |

I would actually think that the higher speeds are where the M4 would reel the Tesla back in, simply due to the gearing. I thought that the Teslas had a ~130mph top speed...
Interesting to see how close it was. Agreed that the car must not have been in ludicrous mode, and that off the line it would have been a can of woop-ass. But good to know that I can now go head to head with Teslas on the road w/o fearing embarrassment I will admit that I've had the privilege to ride in a development P90D with secret sauce - don't ask me how - and that thing is incredible. When I got back to my M4 it honestly felt laggy and slow. So I can confirm first-hand that these cars truly are a remarkable feat of engineering. BUT... it's still good to know that on good old (Mexican) roads, in everyday power settings, it's a close match
