I have the ///M tri-color stripes on the front grill of my M4, my wife has the m on her M3, and we have it on our Z4 M Roadster.

I don't really give a shit about anyone else's opinion. They're our cars, we'll do what we want with them.

The AC Schnizter style barely hit on my driveway so a full lip would definitely scrap every single time.

This is the right attitude.

I put the M Heritage edition stripes on my carbon fiber roof. Call me a wanker. Excuse the crappy pic and dirty car.

In general one of the strangest things for me was coming to this forum and seeing how many “rules” are imposed on the bimmer owners and what’s acceptable vs. not. An M on the grille, trunk, both seats that glow in the dark, and both sides of the car is kosher but stripes on the grille is tacky

I fell in love with Bimmers on the motorcycle side where as long as you didn’t ride with sandals and a Mohawk on your helmet, you were free to do with your bike what you like.

I saw this first picture, fell in love with how the bike looked, and replicated it on mine with the second picture. The pride you felt for BMW creating the ultimate riding machine... You never thought twice about emphasizing Motorrad.

Must be a pleasure riding a BMW
I miss that focus, freedom
I highsided in the hills minor, bro highsided at thunderhill raceway severe...was too shook after that...wish bikes had ABS then

At the end of the day, I just don't understand why people are asking for others' opinions on their potential mods: just do whatever you want and like, and don't give a crap about what people think.

This. Try it. If you don't like it remove it or swap grilles with another member. Personally not my thing but I think they look good on black or dark colored cars that need some contrast. With my Silverstone II they would look tacky and would almost go unnoticed. I see these things all over the place on every non-M BMW sedan and many X5s in my area, so at least I know what they mean.

Having said all of that it would be a small project for a day, get you out with the car, something you yourself will appreciate and if after a few months you think 'meh' just take it off. Thats the great part about cars...we get to tinker, just undo the stuff you don't like....if you do it, post pics

I mean we aren't talking about repainting the car? We are talking a few small stickers or plastic pieces. As was pointed out there are already 1 million places with M badges, M colors, etc already on an M car. I'm not sure why 1,000,001 things on the car automatically changes it to "tacky"? But hey...its a subjective thing. Ask for an opinion and you will get stuff all over the place. When someone else starts making my car payment for me maybe I will give a f@*% about what someone else thinks about my car. Until then, dont worry about what anyone thinks.

For the same reason anyone asks for opinions about anything. It's to understand a perspective different from their own. Not one single thing wrong with that, it doesn't take away from doing whatever you like one bit, and if anything it shows maturity.

If you don't care what people think about something, you just don't waste your time talking about it.

Nope. Leave that for the non-///M peasants! Real ///M owners don't need to pose.
