$1300-$1400 for labor to install m performance springs on f80

Does the price sound right?

That is pretty outrageous. Spring install should be more like 400-500 MAX with an alignment included.

Yes.

Did you call other shops and what was their quote?

That doesn't sound right at all. Local indy shop, a while ago (January) quoted me about 400$ to change springs. Not sure if m performance would be more complicated than aftermarket tho.

M Performance springs will be a HAS kit and that is much more time consuming.... same with the KW HAS kit so that is why the cost/time is much higher

Hate to go against the grain here but that’s about the cost I’ve seen. In fact, I was quoted the same install price for coilovers. If I were you, I’d go the coilover route as they are way better than just springs.

Slam that sucker and enjoy the amazing ride.

Install price for entire suspension at all respectable specialists £250 + VAT.

Install price for springs 1-hour labour: £135(inclusive of vat).

Geo alignment starting at £100, mine today cost £211(inclusive of VAT) because extra 45 mins labour for some adjustments.

The price sounds totally outrageous and outright theft.

I paid right around $350-400 to get my KW HAS kit installed. It should not cost 4 digits.

When I had my M Performance HAS kit installed by EAS about two years ago, they completed the job in less than a couple hours and the price was under $500 for everything installed.

I would highly recommend contacting EAS for a quote and appointment.

Yes, I adore them! You just need to code out EDC if you have that option and all is well!

All about the labor rate. Figure 7 hours or 5 if they want to be competitive. Should take a full working day to have done with alignment. I would say $500-$1000 (assuming it is a reputable shop with good quality labor).

I think it all depends on the shop and how often they do these.

It's a 2-3 hour job MAX for an Indy that has done these often.

We are lucky here on the East Coast since we have a shop that literally does these in his sleep for $250.

$400-$500 TOPS is fair, not including alignment.

I also don't prefer the same day alignment approach. Figure out the ride height you like first, over the first week or two, and then get it aligned is my recommendation.

The dealership quoted me $4,000 for parts, labor, and alignment. Assuming parts at MSRP for $1,600 and $200 for alignment, my labor quote was $2,200.

Dude, dealership prices are such a scam. My spark plugs need changing. Doing oil and air filter too. Dealership wanted 180 for oil, 110 for filters, 1100 for plugs. Local BMW indy mechanic quoted me 400 for everything with OEM filters and plugs and Castrol Edge. I swear, I don't understand why people go and pay dealership rates.
