$199.99 unlimited oil changes your BMW ultimate care

Has anyone see the BMW $199:99 unlimited oil changes for 3 years in Roundel magazine in the past issue. How do I sign up and is there a catch? I'm seen this on the BMW website also but it said extended ultimate care 1-2,3,4?

Here's the catch: Unlimited oil services included are based upon the associated BMW vehicle Condition Based Service (CBS) system.

Your car may say it only needs two oil changes during this 3 year period and many folks will want to change more often than CBS tells you to.

I don't want the recommendation of 10k oil change, that way to long for an M car, I want to change early as 6k as possible. My car is 3 years old and at 17k miles now a trade put on 7 k miles a year.

Honestly, I really enjoy changing the oil myself on this car.

It's super straight forward.

Every 5k miles for Castrol For me.

And if you go through FCP Euro, you pay once.

I signed up for my M3. Seems like a great deal. They are basically giving it away at cost so they can sell you other services like brake fluid, spark plugs, and any repairs. Keep you going to BMW vs independent shops. Makes sense as a tactic.

DIY.

F80 is the easiest car to do oil change. Drain plug is exposed doesn't need to take off any panel and the filter is easily accessible on the top of the engine.

While I didn't get it for my F80, I did get it for my F10 550i with 74k miles. It does pay for itself almost immediately (dealer oil service for me is ~$180) and it is also transferrable. If you decide you don't want to keep the vehicle, it is an incentive for your next buyer. Pretty much a no brainer as I have the dealer do all the troubleshooting with the oil service, and take it to the independent for the identified other services for 30% less on average.

Not quite true...you get a minimum of 1 oil change a year regardless of mileage.

This is a pretty good deal especially for those of us with cars that take 10w-60 which is included

How much do your oil changes cost that $200 for 2-3 is considered a good deal? Where I'm from, it's like $40-$50 in parts. Do you only change oil at the dealer? To me this is priced as 3 oil changes you just pay up front, which makes no sense.

I get mine done at the dealer and it's $120 for an oil change.

So like I said, it pays for itself in 2.

I use to change my oil but I'd rather do other things now.

I'd sign up for it. For basically at cost I don't need to get my hands dirty plus free loaner car to drive around. Time is money!

My e92 M3 takes 10w-60 which is about $14/liter and 8.5 liters, so it is a good deal for that car. Not so much for my F80 M3 which takes a significantly cheaper 5w-30.

I change my own oil for both cars, so the low price is intriguing; just not enough to make me pull the trigger.

Good deal for those who can't change their own oil.

I had faulty work done at the dealer last time and I don't think they changed my oil as part of the free maintenance program — I don't think in 8 months my oil should look thick and opaque black.

Now I change my own oil and have peace of mind. Like others have said, it's super easy to do on our cars. Plus I don't have to spend time driving to and waiting at the dealer, too bad they don't offer free loaners for just oil changes anymore.

That was kind of my point too. I guess it could be considered a good deal if you absolutely need to get your oil changed by a dealership, but why should you? I've come to loathe dealership service departments, and if they don't give you a loaner for oil changes anymore, I REALLY don't see the point then. A Wifi lounge with drinks and snacks does not make up for waiting far too long for an oil change.

I too don't feel like getting dirty sometimes, and I go to my indie shop who lets me pick whatever oil I want, or lets me bring in my own parts (only for oil changes), and charges me $20 for the service. All in I'm at about $60-$65 per oil change and I'm in and out in 25 minutes, and I know they're not going to strip a bolt or give it to some porter who doesn't give a crap about my car. It's a no brainer for me. I even asked them if bringing my own parts bugs them, and their rationale was that they don't make any money on oil changes anyways, so it doesn't really matter if I bring my own oil & filter.

I really don't think it's that hard to find a decent indie either. I've found 3 in my local area that I'd gladly use over a dealership. But some people eat that dealership experience all up, so I guess I'll just concede that maybe it's just not for me. But the numbers amount to prepaying for 3 oil changes which doesn't add up in my case.

Multiple dealers here in North NJ charge $180-$300+ for an oil change on an M car, but also charge about half for the non M car. Go figure considering it's the same process and the same oil. (Just slightly different quantity and different plug/filter). Knowing that alone makes me detest the stealerships.

Every 5k miles for Castrol For me.
But Castrol is not a LL grade oil. I was told by the dealer to use 0w-40 for the M car.

Where do you dispose your oil?

FCP Euro does not carry 0w-40, so what grade are you using?

I get the oil from Amazon or Walmart whenever it's on sale. I stock up.

I dispose of old oil at Autozone.

Thanks for posting this. But out cars at least s55 requires 6.9 quarts. How long does it take to change the oil? Most guy let it drain like 5 min plus.
