The example was given just showing an independent dyno graph but I don't believe any other intake on that platform has been proven to make 19 WHP. That is not easy at all.

TBH I don't believe that any other intake company has put so much effort into to actually designing an intake and using CFD analysis during the design process. If they have no one has ever published any CFD data.
The lead designer has a degree in fluid dynamics and these principles are taken into account throughout. The full development thread is now up here: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...9#post19078399 |

The Carbon/Kevlar hybrid material which is used to provide colour is more expensive and is harder to work with to get a smooth finish.

The holes, non-custom offset/sizing and finish options on the FI-R make them way less attractive IMO. But to each their own right.
Now back to intakes... I need to decide if Im keeping my car or getting a GTR so I can decide if I'm buying one of these or not |

Just needed to correct that for you.
But seriously, I would love to hear some SOUND clips of the Eventuri drive by.

But with hood up, Eventuri wins hands down in the eye candy factor for sure.

A lot of people call it CAI? So does the BMS site. Does it matter if it's Hot or Cold?

Thats why it makes no power. Because it is a Hot Air intake and not like the Eventuri or MSR which bring in Cold air. They can call it whatever they want, but the facts are, it draws on Hot air. It only matters to performance.

Eventuri has an open cone with carbon wrapped around the outside when your at a stand still it also draws in hot air It draws air in through funnel from the front grill - has a scoop like an rpi air ram and apparently is more efficient How is this a true cold air intake? Seems no different to any other open cone with an air ram? |

Eventuri looks the best of all the systems and I believe their power gains claims, however since the MSR makes more noise it's a tough call

It's also $800 for the MSR intake.

I think he meant $800 More for the MSR. But I believe George gives a 20% discount to board members. So there isn't too much in price difference.

You don't need power parked at the lights.
As soon as you start moving, the ram flow will kick in. I would think that the extra air coming in when moving would make the under hood temps slightly lower anyway. But worst case scenario, you momentarily have the same as the HAI whilst stopped for prolonged periods of time, but as soon as you move, the temps would be down again. To tell you the truth, I am still undecided as well. I think the MSR will perform better, and possibly sound better. But the Eventuri, looks better. I really need to hear an Eventuri. Cheers. Quote:

If that person is on the board, C'MON man let us know which sounds the best and which performs the best. PM me please if you don't want to be public.
