Brake rotor retaining screw

I stripped out both rotor retaining screw on one rotor and had to drill them out. I have a track day tomorrow. Can I run without these screws holding the rotor on?

The screws are just for assembly and holding the rotor on while the wheel is off. The wheel with properly torqued lug nuts is what holds the rotor in place.

Yeah that’s what I thought. No way those tiny screws would hold the force generated from braking. Thanks.

I had the same problem this weekend. Just drilled them out and called it a day. When I’m bored I’ll re tap and use a helicoil.

My dealer actually put two on one of my rotors AND stripped out one of them. smh

They offer convenience by holding the rotor on during dis-assembly but outside of that they're a PITA to deal with especially after many miles and corrosion build-up.
