Have you checked your radiators lately?

If you track in the higher run groups where there are lots of rubber marbles caused by R-compounds and full on slicks, you might have the damage shown below. The wheel well liner headlight access cover was knocked off completely and the round bulb access was severely damaged. Also the marbles get tossed into the back side of the fender well radiators. About 20% of both fender well radiators had so much damage that the fins could not be straightened. The other picture shows my attempt to prevent future damage.

Wow, quite a bit of damage there.

Make sure you replace that headlight access cover asap. Dirt, bugs, and most importantly moisture are gonna get in there and cause damage.

I lost the headlight cover, but never broke the piece underneath. Replaced it. Radiators on mine have some damage, but not as much. My concern is if the mesh does anything to cooling flow?

Garage List
I had the same thing happen to me on my 2015 M4 with the headlight cover inside the wheel well. I put some Gorilla tape over the covers after that which has done the trick.

This is all too familiar to me. I actually had a rock kick up from my buddies GT4 on track and put a small hole in my radiator. I decided to go all out so that wouldn't happen again...

Yes, I did the same with the front end as well with 1/4 “ mesh. My damage was not as bad in the front of the radiators but I’ve had 2 windshields replaced because of rocks kicked up.

Nice work DASm3. I suppose you removed the whole front facia/bumper to access these areas. Any advice for others planning to apply this fix?

Make sure to spray paint the mesh black (I think I did 2 or 3 coats) before zip tying it all in

Might want to try plasti-dip aerosol rather than paint. That shit is prettty cool. I've used it on grills and I think it holds up better to rock assaults better than paint especially if you're rattle canning. All kind of colors and and they offer a clearcoat also which may help durability even more. Not sure on that last one but worth try for a $10 can. Works good on wheels too. When it gets old or you want to change colors it peels right off.
