There's a difference between "potentially destroy" and "will for sure destroy".

The design itself is clearly suggests it is meant to "spin" under excessive force as the result of an over-acceleration. Why would they designed it that way otherwise?

Anyhow, enough of this .

Well, the new muffler is on. Externally, it doesn't look any different other than it's new and shinny. Def didn't have any new support brackets. Going to have to get the tips blue again Monday at the track!!

Bummer there's no brackets, but at least it was replaced. Thanks for the update.

Hope that makes sense.
As far as I know all S55 variants share the same crank hub.

My understanding is that it is not how much power the engine makes nor the redline, but rather it is how fast the engine is accelerated that gets the crank hub to spin.

Old muffler. Was cracked before I blue'd it
Kind of interesting that the muffler turned blue as well as the pipes. I though when the flaps were open in Sport/+ everything was routed straight out. Guess some still travels through the muffler.

Something isn't right...maybe someone can correct me but I've never seen that much bluing. That exhaust was extremely hot for long periods of time.

That pic tells me that GTS was used as intended .

The more one tracks their car, the bluer it will become. You should have seen the MPE on my old 2015 M4 .

Used as intended for sure! I only had 4 days on it too. Got some work to do on the new muffler

BMW took the old muffler because it was a warranty item.

I doubt bmw will update the gts muffler with the new design (reinforced brackets) there's only so many gts out there and our warranty is running out in a year or two anyways.

Thanks

Just cracked my MPE, it will be a warranty claim.I was just weighing up my options as to go back to Akra or maybe try and get hold of the GTS exhaust if it was full titanium system.

Someone told me, but I have not verified, that Akra makes the GTS exhaust. Not sure if that's correct or not but might be worth researching.

Thanks

If they do , you will see the Akra stamp and BM stamp, like on the MPE for the F10 M5 and F13 M6.
Will be talking to dealer tomorrow , for options.Cheers.

Well, I'm doing my best to get the new muffler/tips blue! The process is quite fun. I highly recommend it!

GTS and MPE is made by Eberspächer Prototechnik GmbH. Definitely a BMW M design.

If it were made by Akrapovic the exhaust would be made in Slovenia, which it is not.
