How long are you getting on brake pads
Tried to search this, but getting a lot of opposing info l. How often do you need to replace brakes on an M3. I think I got suckered into buying the pre-paid service because it included brakes, but not sure if I'm going to need them by 36miles. I was pretty good about fighting off most other stuff, but they got me there...
Also, what do brake pad replacement cost? |

I'm at 41k and there is lots of meat left. Hoping to get them done before 50, but doubtful.
The get in the pre paid is spark plugs along with several oil changes. For me I saw it as fair value (bought the car with 15k). |

Mine had 1100 miles. She convinced me after wearing me down that people were getting brakes done at 20k in M cars. I'm gonna insist that they do my brakes at 30k even if they don't need them cuz I paid for This shit due to her predatory sales tactic haha

My first set went through to about 65000kms, that's when the sensor went off however BMW first suggested changing them at around 50000kms. My car's a daily so my brakes don't get a hard time really.
If you've got them covered in your package and do a decent amount of spirited driving I'd thing you'd get inside the 36000 miles for BMW to suggest change out. |

Also, BMW doesn't resurface rotors so hopefully they replace the rotors during the brake job and not just throw on new pads. (I bought the pre-paid maintenance as well). If you're going to do this outside of warranty, Akebono pads about 200 for the full front and rear. https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/M4...&b=9&d=5147&v= Try getting some wiper blades as part of your maintenance, those are covered. |

Good point, my 5-6 track days is with Pagid RSL29. I burnt through almost new OEM front pads in less than one track day running R-Comp tires.

Could be worth the hassle depending on how many months are left. I did it after the brakes incident above |

For those who are mechanically inclined, brake pads are one of the easiest things to replace on these cars. Not quite as easy as a Porsche, but still really easy.

i paid 2400 for wheel and tire insurance thinking they would replace curb rash with a new OEM wheel learn from it. NOTHING at the dealership is worth it tbh. Especially with so much used shit on this platform. Wheels bend; fuck it buy a new set from some dude with wheel ADD |

Got my spark plugs and full brake replacement done at 23k miles on my 16 M4. Had lots of life left on the rotors and pads too. My maintenance plan is up this coming January so i had them change the brakes and plugs at no cost. I did pay for the trans and diff fluids to be changed though and that was $200

I am at 40500 miles, 9mm front / 8mm rear. Bought the car CPO @ 24000. Not sure if they were changed at CPO, as there is no paper trail, but they are still more than new condition. At this rate i expect to replace them in the 60-70k mile range.
Tires - now thats a different story. |

Sorry I meant $200 each fluid service so $400. They were trying to charge me $300 at first. And even though I know the tech, and could have just paid him to do it, i wanted a repair order made for the service that details it was done.

57k miles and just got the "Drive Moderately" warning for the rear brake pads. That includes a few track/autocross events, but they were my first ones ever, so I couldn't have cooked them that badly (compared to a seasoned track driver).
