Miles remaining display

Odometer on my M4 shows a balance of 70 miles left in the gas tank to drink . Drove 38 miles ever since then and it still 65-70 miles left in gas tank. Could there be a problem with the gas tank mileage thing ?

No, it adjusts based on where you keep your RPMs.

So I guess it's normal that this happens right ? Nothing for me to be worried of?

nope. drive at 100mph on the highway and see it dwindle...go back to 60 and see it rise.

for example I drive my loaners and rentals like granny at the last leg to make the gas meter go up

Nothing to worry about.

It's an approximation at best anyway. Try driving in the first transmission setting at highway speed with cruise control and look at the reading after a few minutes. Put it on the third setting and start gunning it right after, it'll start dropping real fast.
