I've driven a 2007 GT3RS many times, but none of those recently and not on track. I remember it being the best car I've ever driven but that was at least 5 years ago. How do you honestly compare it to the M3 having both back to back? I'd imagine the M3 feels faster, but you're much more connected in the GT3. Great cars and your new RS is going to be amazing.

When the right buttons are selected the M3 becomes more edgy, gritty and nervous but it doesn't approach the old school mechanical rawness of the 997RS, as you'd expect. The RS has an exhaust bypass and sounds like a mini Cup car you hear every combustion cycle, very different from the Eisenmann on the M3. I will say with all the most aggressive setting the M3's eager mode is a bit too eager for me, it can feel a tiny bit contrived and I sense the software, whereas in the 997 it just is what it is at all times. The voodoo 991 RS arrived a couple of weeks ago, so far it's everything you've read about. The lava interior is controversial, but I can tell you I love and it works. It's also one of the very few bespoke RS options unavailable on anything else. First drive was from the dealership to COTA, but not on track, I was racing a spec boxster and jumping from one to the other did not make the 991RS feel like anything less than a weapon while still being reasonably comfy on the street...not sure how they pulled that off, guessing lack of weight, more transparent software and suspension tuning into the small hours. I traded the M3 and GT4 (great car, gearing terrible and lets the engine down) in for the 991RS, and bought a low mileage Mark 3 RR SC that looks like new, for very little money (for now) and I don't worry about it being parked right up against a dually truck at the grocery store. Couldn't be more pleased. With traffic in Austin the way it is, the M3 was fine but I could never stretch it's legs. The RR is a tank, plods along in complete comfort, kids and dog can make a mess of it and it's fine.

Congrats on the gorgeous new car! It's nice to hear the feedback, it rings true what I remember about the 997, also nice to hear what a step up the 991 GT3 is over it as well.
Enjoy your cars sir!
