Old member coming back...finally getting M car...
Hi all,
Just quick introduction. 20 years ago coming out of college (yes this shows my age 42), got my first BMW 3 series, always wanted the M3. Later skipped M3 and went to Porsche Turbo and then last year went to Ferrari 458 Spider. I still have the 458 as my weekend car. I'm picking up my black metallic saph. M4 on Friday as daily driver. Very excited to drive the car and see how it compares to the Ferrari. Believe it or not, I haven't test driven the M4 yet. Just read reviews and youtube videos and I hear nothing but good things. Great value for the technology and performance. I will post pics of both my 458 and M4 once I get it next to each other. Glad to be back in the family again |

Just looking at the M4 stock configuration of the wheels and height of car, seems pretty high. I just lowered my 458 with Novitec springs and spacers. Looks awesome. Does anyone know if you can lower M4 on stock springs and if so, what is maximum height in mm that you can lower by?

You read reviews and watched Youtube reviews and only heard good things? I thought there were only bad reviews on our cars?
Welcome to the club! Hope you like your new ride!

It won't have the Ferrari sound, but the low end torque is perfect for daily driving. A great do-it-all machine. Congrats and welcome back.

It's been a busy week. My M4 is waiting to be picked up in Beaverton, OR. Going down there on Friday and driving it back to Seattle. In the meantime, my 458 is anxiously waiting for her friend to come. Will post pics of M4 next to her this weekend.

Thanks all for the kind comments. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be able to enjoy these great pieces of technological art. BMW's, Porsches, Audis, Ferraris, Lambos, etc. they're all great cars.

You're right to be nervous You have to go at diagonal angle and very slowly to not bottom out. Fortunately I have skid plates under the front bumper. I'm planning to lower the M4 once I get it.

I always wonder what a Ferrari owner would feel like when he/she drives an M (any of the true M cars).
Does it feel similar when we drive a Honda/Toyota? |
