F80 Winter Wheels Rims/Tires Questions

Hi everyone,

Have a few questions about measuring/fitting winter wheels for the F80.

1) Is it ok to run 18"x8" or even 18"x8.5" square set up for the rims? (my non-winter setup is the 437m 19x9 front and 19x10 back and I am worried about going down an 1" in the front and 2" in the back, I am not sure if that will affect how it drives or if the wheel can handle the weight if that makes sense?)

2) What is the recommended tire width/ratio? (I know that it is going to tie into the rim width a bit, but a lot of people seem to run 255/35 or 40 square, haven't seen anyone say under 255 so again i wonder if it is a performance/safety issue)

3) Is it better to run narrow rims/tires if driving in thick snow? (I was told that briefly, but in the back of my mind, I was thinking wider rims/tires would have more traction/grip and therefore be safer)

You will be fine. I run 18x8 square with 245/45-18s in the winter and actually prefer it for winter street driving.
