What's your budget? The brand and model I've been using is the Thinkware F800 Pro 1080p 2-channel w/ rear cam. They have a newer models that have 2k and 4k recording. No complaints with over 1yr of using it. Another popular brand is BlackVue.

I had the BlackVue 750s on a previous car but my M4 currently got BlackVue DR900S-2CH in it. It requires a cable solution which may take you an hour+ but once installed it’s super hidden cable wise and easy to use app that can connect and download/view files on the fly from the built in WiFi, very useful in some situations.
You can connect it to a cloud solution as well for upload and phone notifications should anything happen. I installed a separate power bank/supply for the cam so it records while I’m parked without draining the car. |

At least the camera lets you know, repeatedly, if something is wrong with the SD card or recording and the app lets you customize it greatly as well. Shame that the one time you needed it that other one failed, my camera have caught burglars and hit and runs in parking lots already, fortunately not to myself but it's helped none the less |

I have a Blackvue 750S-2ch. For the most part I like it but during the colder months the rear camera will fail to start up after the nightly reset leaving you with only front recording until the inside of the car is warmed up and the camera is power cycled. I'm in Texas with a garage kept car so by colder I mean only in the 50-60's. Pretty annoying issue that is surprisingly common based on forum users reporting the issue.

Got 2 Blackvues running, one is a 750 and in my m3 the 900. Love them both, especially the form factor which you can install and be very unobtrusive as opposed to the other cameras out there.

I got this
Since I never use the backseats like ever, should probably clean there eventually however I just noticed , I plugged it there and put the battery and everything else in the glove compartment with the camera cables going into the pillars and around which is what took majority of the time, you only really see cables at these two spots tho and you really won't see them unless you look for them My DIY is basically this |

Another one for Blackvue.
I don't think there are any wireless options out there. Quote:

Wow, thanks for all the inputs guys, I really appreciate it.
Based on numerous posts, I decided to go with BlackVue. Is this one a good deal? Thanks! https://www.ebay.com/itm/17344278657...pe!79424!US!-1 |

I know it’ll charge faster, but honestly I’ve had issues on past vehicles hooking things up which ends with the battery draining (probably my own fault) and the way it is now it’s yet to run out of power anyways

You can also get the magic box to help with keeping your battery from draining. Only like $20.
