For $4K we can have the Wagner TMIC plus their two FMIC kit.
EoS has had a billet charge air cooler offering for a few years now, but it often goes out of stock: https://www.eospeed.com/collections/...nt-intercooler

My personal preference is Forge Motorsport's hand TIG welded and manually inspected charge air cooler: https://www.forgemotorsport.com/BMW_...uct--1602.html

That's correct, sir! It is a very thick unit, and will need some hood skeleton trimming, especially when paired with the EoS intake manifold.

It's still one of the highest quality charge air coolers available for the S55 IMO. Comes with multiple NPT bungs for meth/vacuum source, along with a separate coolant reservoir.

Do you know if the Wagner unit will clear the CS hood?

Holy shit, that was probably the worst response I've ever seen on a forum.
Just ordered my Mishimoto cooler.

I’m super happy with my Mishimoto cooler.
Gives me a peace of mind to know that it won’t leak like OEM and they have provided test results to prove gains. And it looks almost OEM.

I would most likely go this route when my stock one goes.
I'm hoping that's accurate, or they at least cool as well as OEM. Found a leak while changing out the cold side J-pipe recently. Figured it was a good excuse to pull the trigger on the Mishimoto FMIC and TMIC set up.

A little off-topic, but +1 for silicon CPs. After I blew my plastic ones I replaced them with silicon ones and IAT deltas (accounting for seasonal temperature changes) are the same or slightly better for me than stock.

Tommy, what charge pipes are you using with your Mishimoto cooler?

The aftermarket ecosystem is one of the most underestimated benefits of going with an M3 over AMG/RS/F/Quad.

You have choices, some better than others, but at least you have them.

The moment you realize this will only go one of two ways...

(A) ... You could bury the video and have all your YouTube and Instagram fans call you out.

OR

(B) ... Get vendor-black-listed by CSF.

The Christmas Card list. Yeah.
Brian should test it with a heat exchanger upgrade and re-dyno. It should make more consistent power after the first run.

Exactly!! People are not taking into consideration results after 5-6 hard pulls. Especially with higher HP conditions . Heat exchangers and top mounts really shine with consistent temps.

The problem with the dyno runs are you have a set in the morning abs a set in the afternoon. One thing he doesn’t mention is the temperature and humidity to take into account. Even if it’s 15 decrees hotter that will have an impact on the run.

Yea on stage 1 it's pointless if your 2 or 3 and expect to drive the car hard over a number of years it's a different story.

Anyone who bought this for HP gains didn't do their research.

Correct, there was not much data provided by manufacturers except perhaps Mishi, but owners dynos always showed similar results. Unless you're upgrading for reliability or heavy track use, OEM cooler is on par or better for just spirited driving. Would be interesting to see results with just the upgraded heat exchanger.
