I am with Safeco, $605 per 6 months. All my car (3 cars now) and house insurance is with Safeco. I feel I should pay less, but I am too lazy to shop around.

Ended up 1250/6 mo with progressive. 3 cars, two drivers, 50/100, $500 deductible
Edit: should be more clear. Car itself accounts for 450 of that. Last edited by IMrMark; 08-08-2014 at 05:37 PM.. |

I have my home owners bundled to my auto and the rate is much better than stand alone...

State Farm is quoting me $755.40/6mo. I'm 30, excellent credit, squeaky clean record, no tickets, no accidents, multi-policy, multi-vehicle, garaged, #2 safest cities in GA, etc...
To compare...my 2001 E39 M5 is $511.60/6mo and we pay around $590/6mo for my wife's 2005 TL (same deal, same age, squeaky clean driver as well). Was hoping it would be a little closer in price but I guess the better MPG vs the M5 will offset the insurance increase. |

I am a State Farm agent.. It all depends on your state and of course your driving record along with a few other factors .. Mine rate is $364 every six months.. And I do not get any discounts as State Farm is a mutual company.. Owned by individual policy holders

Interesting. How much does your rate go up if you live in SF or LA California?

Rates in California are indeed higher than in Ohio.. But not by much and certainly no where near the highs in other parts of the nation. Living in the inner city or urban areas are higher than suburbs..

I use USAA and my rate is about $800 more per year than what I was previously quoted without the VIN (based on last generation M3 I guess). I am looking for a new company. Im 42 with a clean driving record.

Lots of things can drive up the rate. I'll say this, though, I've been with State Farm for ~20 years and had to file a few claims as well as get them involved due to an uninsured motorist. They have always been very easy to work with.

my 911S is cheaper than the M4. Not much, but the Porsche with a $167k sticker price is just shy of $600/year and the M4 is $687/year and it is half the price and only 2 months newer. Doesn't make sense to me except I guess less 911's are wrecked each year than BMW's? I am 42 and in Florida. And certainly not complaining as I feel that is cheap insurance, just doesn't make sense when one car cost 2x the other and it is cheaper and I have crazy high coverage including a $10 million umbrella policy.
