Did they give you a loaner? if so, I don't understand what the issue is? I love getting a loaner and driving their car without a worry while mine is being worked on. Yes, I understand it's a new car and you probably didn't expect this to happen... but it's a first year... Shit like this happens to any model.

Let them work on it, call BMWUSA and see if you can get them to remove a payment or two from the car.

Best case is to hope BMW does a better job here, I doubt things would be better with Porsche if a part failed honestly.

Best of luck
I am sorry to hear of your situation, hope it gets rectified soon.

All dealers are NOT "disgusting". I have had GREAT experiences with local BMW,Nissian & Audi dealers. Yes, I have seen some of the local dealers really suck, Porsche,BMW Cycle & Mercedes. It is really hit and miss, but when you find a good one they are consistent.

Don't go for a Porsche, you will be sorry....I know.

If you go Porsche, just don't dump us all together. We (okay, guys don't give a shit, but I would) would miss you!

Car will be ready today they are swapping the cover with the old one and ordering a new one ASAP.

Impressive indeed - wonder how consistent they will be with this type of solution going forward - great trend just not sure it will persist if many more cars have similar issues - it is a no brainier to garner good will in the community and in respect customer retention, lets hope it is the new standard!

That's totally unfair. How would the OP feel if he found out they took a brand new diff damaged in shipping, swapped some parts from his old diff to replace the damaged bits, and installed it without his knowledge?

How would the OP react if they had suggested that right out of the box? Possibly not good at all.

Look at the end outcome. It's good.

Well done SA! Really well done! When the new one and the current one breaks down again, I'll be more sympathetic since apparently mine will be here soon, and I get to experience all this shit for myself too hahaha

I'm happy that you are happy. It's great to see someone got sorted out this well.

Awesome news man. Here's hoping for the next M3 to be bug free *knock on wood*.

Everyone here willed BMWNA into giving a response like that with our "Lemon vibes".

I gotta admit, whenever I hear BMWNA do the right thing, its usually a kickass response. I heard someone who had a E92 M3 had some kind of known long time issue with their V8's. Even though his warranty was over they still came through and decided to give the owner a completely new engine (S55?) to replace his busted V8. 0 miles on the odometer.

The habit of shooting first and asking questions later around here is maddening. We aren't giving BMW a chance to stand behind their cars before we get behind our keyboards. Never a doubt in my mind it wouldn't work out for the best. Enjoy this and next car in good health!

I would agree with this as I am in fault. There is something to be said of what BMW na is doing and making this situation right.

Thanks for the update. Good news that BMW did the right thing without involving lawyers. If my 80k car was crippled in the first few thousand miles I'd demand a brand new car.
