Radar detector

Now the new m3 is ready to be picked up I need to get a radar detector. What do you use and recommend?

I used to have the valentine 1. Great radar but I got 3 tickets using it. One was a laser, they got me instantly. One was by planes, they timed me with lines on the road. The third was getting paced from behind.

I realized instead of being confident I won't get a ticket with the radar, I sold it to pay for some good lawyers lol and then I just focused on looking behind me and and ahead of me and using prior knowelege of where cops wait.

Especially down in Miami, our cops use laser all the time and really no radar will help you with that. If you have cops that's use normal radar, I would recommended that radar as it's the best that I have seen with false detections and this one tells you what direction they are coming from

However I would recommend saving your money and downloading the all wAZe. It's a community app for directions which works brilliantly but you can also use it for the feature were people will let you know we're a cop is posted and so far, it has been pretty damn good.

Best option would be to get the new passport 9500ci. Comes with laser shifters (so cops who use lasers wouldn't be able to tag you as effectively) and its built in so it looks less messy. I believe bimmerpost had a featured post or article about it with someone who just got an M4.

theres the video. If you want the best possible then the 9500ci is it. MSRP is $1999 but I'm sure you could find it for cheaper at a local dealer (or even used).

9500ci is a great radar detector, but the laser jammer don't perform as well as others.

Great radar detectors are the Valentine 1, And Escort Redline. Second class radar detectors are the Escort Max, Escort 9500xi, Escort 8500x50 Black, Beltronics Rx65, Beltronics pro 300 and Beltronics 500. I wouldn't purchase any other radar detectors.

The only laser jammer that will provide you protection against all laser guns is the AL Priority. www.raletc.com
