I would be curious what your dealer shows - it sounds like it is in the system and scheduled - so their DCS system should be able to look it up.

That would be the week the car is finished production so it would begin about two weeks earlier. I suppose they could bleed into June for cars started in May and still technically end production in May. But who knows!

There are several of us in the Tanzanite thread that were told Week 23 production dates also.

And high likelihood, the G-series will also be AWD as well, has to keep up with Alfa, Audi maybe even Benz in HP war; and it'll be scary to have 525hp plus RWD car w/ torque down-low

My dealer did say that M3s were getting very hard to come by..... Of course I asked him to order me one and what my brand new 18 would be worth and he said "you will lose too much money" - so maybe not THAT hard

I’m waiting for my confirmation for Individual F80, delivery on August 24. I’ll post whether I get the allocation or not.

If you have any sense of urgency, I wouldn’t sit around and wait on your local dealer. Allocations are getting very hard. Call high volume dealers nationally and be relentless.

I am actually surprised to keep hearing that allocations are very tough to get despite a lot of big discounts on F80’s. Maybe the discounts are generally for on the lot cars?

As my dealer said "the M3 is about to be the hot car" - I suspect that there won't be a lot left and people who want them will want them. But then again, the impending doom of a new model a year or two away can often depress prices.

One thing I can think is that maybe at some dealers the particular sales person I contacted sell a ton of low priced cars... and a $65-80k M3 isn’t an every day sale. Perhaps they’d rather scoop the alloactiom and secure a high end car vs play hard ball and lose it. Just a theory. Again, if you don’t really care that much, I suppose there’s no harm in waiting around and hoping you get lucky with your dealer. But if you really want to build one new I would get in control and make it happen. Remember, cars.com shows a huge selection of new car inventory. Have you searched there? Maybe one exists that you like? Might be easier. Or, check it CPO vehicles. Would you consider that? Last edited by instarand; 04-14-2018 at 12:55 PM.. |

I couldn’t agree with you more. I actually got a much better discount on my recent MY18 ED than my MY16 ED, despite allocations being more rare. Funny story about “waiting” around on an ED. I’m not sure if it’s just a Mercedes thing. I was shopping around for an e43 AMG ED for my mother September of 2017 for a winter delivery. When the time came, they jacked up the agreed MF so i passed. Searched around for another allocation, which I was told was confirmed. Long story short, this small dealership never had an allocation the whole time.... It was quite the frustrating situation and ended up just going to the dealership to buy a car off the lot. To say the least, I had a very frustrating experience with Mercedes, and it’s unfortunate that my mother likes their cars more than BMW. Lesson learned, locked down an allocation and triple confirm everything and in writing. I’m not someone who really believes in dealer loyalty, but i have to admit that i am really happy to make a deal with a dealership i’ve worked with in the past who has handled my first ED. Good luck on everyone’s search for a final model year f80 |

the M-car allocation thingy is anyone’s guess.
back in summer I cross-shopping between M3 and M2, big dealers in my area had waiting list for M2 about 20-people long each, though my CA kept saying no worry more than half would drop out once they see the MF/RV on M2 so I would be 9month to 1 yr out for waiting on M2. Then last month, Seattle got seven M2 and Bellevue got 5, outside their original allocations. These M2s seem to be pre-built, maybe for other dealers at different regions but those regions see slow-down in demand on M2 while here (thanks to best job market in the country like MS, Amazon and Boeing, demand stays strong). So my guess, actual demand for M3 is not that strong nationwide but BMWNA won't commit to allocations to dealers for custom build. So BMWNA at the end will just shift built M3 around regions. So if you ask dealers: "do you have allocations for custom build?", well no; but wait in a month or two they do all the sudden have a few on the lot. So yeah if you really peculiar on options/colors/transmission go hunt now |

My salesman yesterday told me that M3 allocations are scarce (which is consistent with what others have been reporting here), so I think that it could signal that production on standard M3s (not CS) will end early. My salesman by the way had heard the rumor of early production end for the standard M3 models but doesn't know either way yet.
