Corporate rebate (type G) program being put on hold

I have from a very credible source that corporate rebates will be put on hold starting VERY soon. Here is the relevant information from the bulletin. This is not the entire bulletin copy / pasted, as some of the information seemed to me to be directed at dealers but here is the relevant information (below the dashed lines).

================

2018 BMW GROUP CORPORATE FLEET PROGRAM TAKE NOTE

• The BMW National Costco Program (NEPP4317) which was originally scheduled to end on October 1, 2018, will now end on September 3, 2018.

• The Executive Allowance Program (Retail Type G) will be suspended for Q4 2018 (October 2, 2018 – January 2, 2019).

MORE DETAILS BMW Costco Sales Promotion (NEPP4137) • The BMW National Costco Program (NEPP4317) which was originally scheduled to end on October 1, 2018, will now end on September 3, 2018. We will honor valid P1 orders/vehicles in the system as of August 15, 2018 but those vehicles must be delivered by October 1, 2018.

• The BMW Costco Sales Promotion was designed to utilize their large member base and drive traffic and incremental sales. Unfortunately, the program has not yielded the expected incremental results.

BMW Executive Allowance Program (Retail Type G) The Executive Allowance Program (Retail Type G) will be suspended for Q4 2018 (October 2, 2018 – January 2, 2019).

• The decision to suspend the program will give us the time necessary to review and develop a more sustainable and strategically effective program in 2019.

• Vehicles that are in the pipeline and marked as P1 with valid customer information as of August 15, 2018 must be delivered by October 1, 2018.

• These vehicles are not-lockable for delivery after October 1, 2018. We apologize for the inconvenience these changes may cause and hope you understand and share our goal to relaunch an improved sustainable Corporate Sales Program in 2019. Driving incremental traffic, volume and loyalty remains our collective ambition and we will endeavor to develop a program which offers positive opportunities in the Corporate Sales market, while remaining operationally viable

Well that's some shitty news! A lot of manufacturers are pulling back on Incentives, which truly sucks, as those people on the cusp of wanting a new car, but don't necessarily need one will not be enticed to pull the trigger

Wow, I had $1500 fleet and $1500 loyalty last time, hard to pull a trigger on any BMW now with $ZERO incentive.

Thats true, but for the 4th quarter, it will not exist according to the bulletin. I copied the text I posted word for word (there was more but as I mentioned it was directed at dealers.

Well, yeah, who can afford to buy a six-pack of BMWs?

The bulletin did not mention M grouppe specifically. It called out type G and costco. With that being said, I would THINK that all of the corporate discounts directed to individual customers are effected, but would be a good question for a client advisor.

M Gruppe program is part of the corporate fleet program so it is on hold as well.

I believe December programs run through January 2nd, so its likely we would know more after the January programs kick in.

I have an X3 on order that did not make it to my dealer by the end of the year, so I am hoping (but not expecting) that january brings a better program for me and others waiting.

Unfortunately, as per Adriana MGruppe Pres who emailed me the other day:
I just heard from BMW today, they have chosen to remove the M Gruppe from the program, despite us being at the top 5 percentile of all customers of the program. BMW NA wants us to fold into the BMW CCA, and that is one of the ways they are adding pressure.

This is sh!tty news as I'm about to sign for my CS

Is this incentive on top of other incentives? For instance, the 3 series has 4500 in incentives posted on that link. Does that combine with the 4k for non fleet customers?

Also, do you know if there is any money factor reduction with fleet now?

Thanks

Someone on the ask a dealer section of the other forum said that the incentives posted on the website above are for true corporate fleet cars - type H; not for individuals (type G). That being said that person also stated that the type G program is back (not same incentive as on website listed above) but doesn't combine with anything else pretty much.

Basically with the new Type G, you are supposed to come in knowing that you qualify for it from your company’s HR department. BMW dealers no longer can look up companies nor generate a CIF form. Guidelines do say not combinable with conquest and other SSP. Lastly, if you are a current BMW FS customer (or within past year), you do NOT qualify.

Not only that, but as said it doesnt stack with anything... and a dealer rep has told us on the other forum that the link above is for TRUE corporate fleet purchases (actual company fleet volume puchases).

New "corporate fleet" in the term that we use to denote "being part of a company that gets a discount" is called "Executive allowance" and is not stackable with loyalty (as an example).

So if loyalty is 1500, "executive allowance" on the same model was 1250. on some models it will be more than loyalty (like 7 series) and on others less (the example I gave is X3).

Wow - Type G was an easy $1,500 during my F80 lease 3 years ago. Stacked it with UDE, etc and made my lease pretty affordable (60+% residual helps)....sounds like it is pretty useless now.

So....what are you getting to replace the 435? I assume you are already aware of the huge residual improvement and money back on the F80's....
