Anyone running openflash or bm3 in AUS?

Hi guys

After finally sorting the chassis on my f80, i've decided to keep it a bit longer and tune it

Debating bw these 2, anyone locally installed either and have any feedback in our conditions/fuel in terms of driveability

BM3 support will be huge compared to OF. If you're in a City then E85 will be the go. Get the wireless OBD dongle and the app on your phone, swap maps in minutes. Custom tune? Post logs to a specialist tuner (Cary, F80Paul etc) to customise to your car. Get a crank hub lock kit so you can sleep at night

I've done much larger builds than a tune, so things like crank hub don't phase me tbh

I agree bm3 features are a cool novelty, that's their best value add for me, the iPhone app, all the adjustability, it feels proper tuning in 2k18, but i think I prefer fact I can customize an OF ots map in tunerpro - that is a huge advantage when I take next step with high flows and cooling, and will provide good base for my local tuner to tune the car in real time on a dyno. I'm not confident with sending maps back n forth, but that may change

I'm hoping E85 support will come in time now that the m2c is bringing more people to the s55 tuning scene. After having both my evo x and r35 GTR on proper flex fuel, I won't entertain ethanol until someone comes up with a true flex solution - mixing fuels at a servo and measuring ethanol content in test tubes is shit I was doing in 2010

Hey guys,

I was running BM3 OTS stage 2, just switched to a VF Engineering Custom Hex Tune a week back for comparison.

Happy to answer any questions about the BM3 if any? For what its worth, I found the BM3 tune really good and never had a problem with it.

I switched to the custom hex tune as it was offered to me free of charge for promo purposes. Still early days so don't have an opinion on it yet.

Cheers.

Thanks guys

Have decided to go with open flash

Their approach to tuning on this platform from what I've seen on the forum makes me feel a bit more confident

Plus like I said above, being able to use tunerpro is a huge advantage as my local tuner knows his way around that sw extremely if/when I need to do some custom tuning on the dyno

got the tablet yesterday.
I might have a go over the weekend.
only issue might be that I have a JB4 and not sure how to flash when the JB4 is still connected.

I had my stock software upgraded to the latest at the time, 3 months ago.

Curious on your thoughts regards switching tunes now after a few weeks? I'm really close to be ditching the VF tune, have been asked when I can get the car back to Melbourne for a "custom tune on the dyno" from the VF dealer there.... curious to know when that became an option in Oz for a VF tune.

Also, for a thread revival...

Any feedback on the Openflash?

One more vote for bm3! Comes with one free OTS map which instantly boosted the car for an additional 100hp, the gts startup roar and gts transmission flash, can't complaint, plus all the fastest s55 records are bm3 flashed, there must be a reason

Keep the JB4 if you're going to run Meth - otherwise just go with the BEF you or your tuner can handle. No S55 flex-fuel solution out there yet
