Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else will be going to the North American Auto Show in Detroit January 24 or 25. I plan on driving there from Chicago and staying overnight at the Renaissance center. I thought it would be fun to find some people to drive there with in our M3/4s or meet others in Detroit coming from other directions. |

I went last year with a group of friends and had a great experience. My recommendation would be to hit the show Saturday then watch the Red Wings game that night. Its all within walking distance from Cobo hall and the nearby hotels.
That show is where I first laid eyes on the F8x cars. The seed must have been planted then, fast forward to today and I've got one sitting in the parking lot. If anyone decides to go, you wont regret it. It truly is the best auto show in the world (sorry Frankfurt/Geneva). Tickets are cheap and you'll be able to sit in nearly every car there. Ford may be showing their new GT this year. That car will steal the show. Do it! http://truckyeah.jalopnik.com/five-t...+matthardigree

No big BMW debuts this year, but it's always a good show. I plan to go next week but if you manage to get a group together I might just have to join you.

I think there are more than enough new introductions to merit the trip. I would honestly go every year if I could. And that's coming from a Texan who wants to travel to Detroit....in the Winter. Its a fun city and I liked the whole experience. Support Detroit, the city and the manufacturers! Hope you make it. Send a report if you do.

http://www.autoblog.com/2014/12/13/b...oit-auto-show/ For me this year, I am most interested in checking out the Cadillac V's, the GT350, the C63 (if it's there - hopefully it will be) and the new RS3 (again, if it is present). I'd also like to see the new 2015 Golf Sportwagen and new Golf R too. |

Thanks for posting Scott. That's a picture straight from Cobo?
That almost looks like Austin Yellow on the new 6 LCI, but it appears a bit greener and lighter. Even if that's the show lighting coming into play, I would guess its not actually AY since that's an M color. Though we've seen them spread to non-M cars before. And is that Melbourne Red or something else? Almost looks Hellrot, but that could again be lighting. Edit: found bimmerpost info thread, but I still don't know what color that yellow is (but the red is indeed Melbourne): http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1067822 "Jatoba metallic, Cashmere Silver metallic, Glacier Silver metallic, Mediterranean Blue metallic and Melbourne Red metallic" |
