I recently installed one of those front mounted intake kid and fitment was azz. I had to move the MAF sensors around and bend the vacuum line to make it fit.
Long story short, after the installation I got an immediate boost leak: 120308 - charging pressure control. Plausibility charging pressure too low. Since the kit fitment was so bad I decided to remove it and return and put back the oem intake. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue. I took it to a shop for a smoke test and they originally thought they found a possible leak and tighten the clamps. Unfortunately on the way home the code came back for me and now the car just drive like there is no boost. I have data logs. ![]() I'm on an MHD GTS tune and the shop told me to try clearing the code, put the car back on stock and drive it a bit to see if it'd go away. It didn't. I'm going to call them again tomorrow to see what other diagnostic they can do but I was wondering if you fine folks has some suggestions on what I can do to find the issue? your intakes should not have impacted the charged side. did you touch the charge pipes while you were messing around with this? Could also be poor timing that a charge or j pipe cracked. Do you hear whooshing air when on throttle? You can usually hear a blown pipe in my experience.

Thanks. I checked the charge pipes and should be okay but I'll check again. They're the aluminum one since I swapped them out. It'd definitely be poor timing if the j-pipe is the issue but maybe I'll need to do a smoke test and know for sure.
Do you know where my entry point should be for for smoke machine? |

I tried smoke test and don't see anything.
Also tried cleaning the MAF sensor and I see this o-ring is damaged, I wonder if it's the issue. Ordered a new set of sensors... Hope this will do it. |

If replacing the MAF doesn't fix the problem, my next question would be:
When you did that front mounted intake kit is it possible that something happens to front turbo wastegate controller/connector/wiring? For more information You should check fault codes with ISTA. |

Is it possible you pinched or shorted the MAF wire or even cracked the vacuum line when you were trying to make the aftermarket part fit? I highly doubt that little scratch on the o-ring would cause any issues.
The thing I dislike about most of these after market intakes is you have stretch or twist the MAF line in some awkward position to get the sensor to reach where it needs to be plugged in. |
