This won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I found this at Brookstone. It blocks a vent and covers some speed dial buttons, but gets the phone up higher.

Kenu Airframe

Belkin makes one too.
If you have the first one installed, a pic would be nice.

Pics. It goes on and off easily - no hard mounting. I can grab it to use the phone if I need and put it back.

Never liked any gadget that holds from the air vents, feel like they will brake after some use.....just my personal opinion, in the other hand, looks very clean!

Yeah, i was worried about that too. It seems fine.

My wife uses the same setup in her benz with an iphone 6+, actually is fine.

[QUOTE=rhk118;18224399]I just installed the Kuda phone mount in my M3 using a Scosche magnetic "magic mount." This setup is perfect for me as the Kuda mount matches the interior and holds the phone at a perfect viewing angle for the driver (so I was able to get a flush mount magnetic mount rather than a "ball and socket" adjustable one which they also make). The magnet holds the phone firmly and it hasn't fallen off, and really easy to mount the phone in any orientation. I also like that this setup doesn't mess with the 6MT in that when shifting into 5th my hand doesn't hit it like it does my coffee mug. Also it doesn't interfere with passenger seat legroom - its out of the way. I have a USB power cord installed into the 12V adapter under the glovebox.

Here's the setup:

I just finished installing my shameless copy of this top notch iPhone mounting combo (Kuda + Scosche magnetic "magic mount"). After getting my Kuda mount (ordered the F30 version as there was no specific F80 version) It didn't seem to fit. I have the full leather interior and I think the leather is a bit bulkier than the non leather console mounting point but with a little careful force it fit like a "tight" glove. I am very happy with this! GREAT IDEA

Here is my installation of the iOttie Easy One Touch 2 Car Mount Holder
It was installed on the left side of my windshield, very close to the A Pilar, just used it for a few minutes so far, not a bad location since its very easy to reach thanks to the adjustable length arm, I can reach it with my left hand fingers while still touching the steering wheel, will try to post a better picture later

Another Kuda+Scosche magic mount user here. I just put this thing on today. I got the F30 3-series version, I don't think there's a difference between this and the M4 specific one. It was a little bit tight with the full leather but it went on without much trouble. Fiberglass did creak a bit when I flex it to get it on but it's nice and snug, and I didn't feel the need to bend the metal tab, it's not going anywhere.

It's definitely a nice fit!
Do you know if they offer a color similar to shakir orange?

Adapter works perfect

Emfo, I use this iPhone adapter for my BMW 1 serie for 4 months now. So far it works perfect. Only have to find some time to hide the cable. Anyway I think you have that issue with all adapters.

The belkin is great - fits snugly in the cupholder and holds the phone firmly. I sort of want something that is more of a dock right now so I drop it in and it's connected.

Anyone try something like this? http://www.shapeways.com/product/AMN...ionId=55900921

I use Waze a lot... so I need one that's closer to eye level. I found this one to be
the one that works the best for my needs. If you don't mind it attaching to your CF trims, it blends in pretty well.

Looks nice, but I would be concerned that it would mar the surface of the CF.

The actual surface he has it attached to is plastic, so with some cleaning it'd probably come off pretty clean. If it does, that piece of trim is fairly easy to replace, so not that big a deal if it does leave a mark.

That's a much better place to stick an adhesive strip than the dash or something covered in leather.

MarkTopper I have the dock also from shapeways but the hole for lightning adapter is only big enough for the original OEM apple cable,

but I'm using a 6-ft cable so it has USB connectivity and routes hidden all the way to the center console. The plugs for almost all aftermarket cables I've seen are too big.

What cord are you using?

My favorite is the Iotte magnet one
it's perfect...doesn't affect the ac vents at all like some clip ones do..
And allows to remove phone very easily as it's a magnet only..

all my friends that see it want one too

Finally got my Mountek AIRSNAP from the indigogo campaign. Super sturdy on air vent (you can tighten it down) without the wobble or movement like the Kenu Airframe, can tilt rotate so you can get the perfect position, magnet is located on the mount with rubber cover over it so it doesn't scratch your phone or case. I just attached the metal plate to the inside of my phone case and its super thin so it doesn't affect phone fitting into case.
