Lifting trim by carbon roof
I have the trim lifting on the passenger side. It's minor, but noticeable and annoying.
Anyone else have this?

When you say trim you mean the black roof molding right? Cause there's a service bulletin floating around for a finish defect issue at the exact location where the roof is glued to the gutters.

^this, took my car to get serviced and was inspected with no need to be repaired, I think their body shop fixes that if needing fix.

I dont think the service bulletin is not for the molding lifting. it is for the a defect in the paint under the molding, mine was the size of a pin head. They think that during the manufacturing process a robot nicked or something the paint a that location. It is a very specific location, BMW gives them dimensions of where the defect is at and everything.

Hi.
Not to bring this up from the dead, but is this service bulletin for the little long piece of trim that the ski rack mount flap is on? If so, that started to lift on my car today and is driving me nuts. Just wanted to see if this still qualifies and what can be done.

Have you guys tried removing and reinstalling them?
I did some PPF on my roof and removed them. They are clipped in. They had to be positioned correctly before pushing down and locking in place. |
