the lip itself looks good quality but it bends from the middle

The ebay ones are awful, they have no place on a $70K car.

No, only glossy. Although, media blasting would make a nice dull, textured finish.

Is there a way to tell which version is the older and newer one?

I bought a LW lip here off a vendor maybe 3 months ago max, and it really bows down significantly more towards the middle than the sides. For the most part, one wouldnt notice it, but when you do or when the angle is just right, its hideous and takes away from the car. Given i purchased the lip in 2019, i'd think its the newest version but is there a way to check either physically or in the instructions? TIA!

mine is slightly bowed just like RoadRunner///M's, but it's from hitting the speedbump every day to the parkade at work. still, it's better than a shattered cf lip... ask me how i know :'(

The problem is these 2 screws are too short. The lip is however less secure without the 2 outer screws those, so I sourced longer screws (+10mm) and because the black spacers will then be loose, I padded them with rubber washers.

I know others trimmed the middle spacers as the solution, however on my car this would have pulled the entire mid section up. The issue on mine was the 2 outer screws pulling the lip up too high.

Pretty annoying all up, but now it fits 100%.

This photo illustrates the problem better. (Note the SlipLo stuck underneath kit if anyone curious to what that is)
We shave down the big middle spacer on every install until the lip is where we want it....FLAT.

Wish we didnt have to do this but unfortunately we do. Looks nice w the slight filing down of the middle large spacer.

We file the side that touches the lip.

Seems like a pain for that amount of money and a product they they have been making for so many years..... you would think it would be 100% correct by now. I wanted one but this keeps me away.... but I just trashed my 2nd carbon lip

Anyone have pictures of the lightweight lip on the car, after shaving down the middle bushing?

I shaved all the spacers down a little at a time until the lip looked even on all sides. Took a while because I had to keep adjusting but it was worth it.

I had the same issue with my V2 lightweight lip. I took off the large center bushing and shaved it down by a good 4mm or so. I took the two inner circular supports and shaved those down a couple mm.

Now it looks more even but still bows down a bit in the center. I may go back and shave another few mm off the center bushing.

Also one of the M6 bolts for the centre space was way too short and I had to source another longer one. The instructions say these are 2 x M6 35mm, however I received 1 x 35mm and 1 x 45mm. You need 2 x 45-50mm.

It is a solid lip and fits 100% once you do all this fiddling around, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a quick/simple install.
Had this exact same problem as well. Found the spare M6 metric bolt with exact pitch at my local Ace Hardware.

I believe someone kinda asked this already but the speeds mentioned were low-ish 100s. I'm wondering how the LW lip handles track days / high speeds. ~145mph on VIR South course on the front and back straights. Any aero or stability issues? Any structural issues (I.e. anyone's lip fall off)?
