I'm liking the new one at the bottom of their page too. Keeps the phone higher.
I'm trying to figure out a good way to incorporate one of those with a Qi wireless charging magnet base... Hmmm

I just gotta find the right Qi base. Would like to use the Schosche ones but most are suction cup mounting base so would have to rig something up and not sure I wanna play with a $80 base lol

Did anyone consider to slightly extend the cup holder so the iPhone plus will fit in?
Or maybe there some aftermarket cup holders with extension for iPhone?

There is funny thing I noticed in f10: iPhone plus perfectly fits right (passenger side) cup holder in the center console, while the left one is just a few millimeters smaller.

The Roklock looks good for bikes and offroading, but the magnetic solutions look like the ones on amazon that go for less $.

Trust me I bought all that cheap magnetic stuff, and it never holds anything plus I also got the case for my iPhone, which works best, yes a bit pricey but trust me you get what you pay for.

I use a popsocket in my 18 M3 with no issues on my IPhone 8 with an Otterbox Defender case. My phone stays in place.

Same here. I use a popsocket paired with a scosche magnet on a proclipusa mount. I’m pretty surprised how sturdy it is on bumps on the roads.

You don't use wireless charging I take it?

Nope. I'm miles behind on tech. I have a 6S Plus and stopped caring about phone updates.

Does the magnet hold up to 'spirited driving'?

I think so. I haven't tested it on track. But I have also never had it fly off.

I picked this up to make sure I wouldn't have any stability issues, but it is quite bulky. It does rotate, nice idea, but not very practical for everyday use since you lose a cupholder...but there should be no eating or drinking in this car anyway, right

+1

I use the Kenu wireless charger air frame mount for my X. It works its way loose sometimes but is very easy to pinch and push back into place. Taking the phone in and out of the tension holder is what works the mount loose. Once in place, it's very stable. Just remember to turn off the mounting vent when the heat is on or you'll cook your phone. In the summer, A/C is probably a good thing to have blowing on it, though.

Finally! A useful and inexpensive mount.

https://www.weathertech.com/cupfone/

Fits into the cupholder. Has five different cupholder sizes. Adjusts its width to accommodate various phone sizes. The pics show an iPhone 10R with a leather case. Note how I have routed the USB charging cable underneath the center console, and back to the USB connection in the center console. Works very nicely!

This is a new solution by BMW. It's a two-piece device that incorporates a universal spring-tension phone holder that has built-in Qi wireless charging and a base (socket) that fits in a cup holder. The charger doubles as a power bank with USB-C input and output, allowing it to charge a phone when not in the car, or be charged itself outside the car.

It's pricey, at ~$180 at MSRP, but the price varies depending on which BMW Center you select after putting it in your cart. The lowest price I've come up with is ~$151. I also found it on eBay for ~$300.

There's a video at this link that shows how it works:

Just seeing if you guys had better luck as I just returned mine. Fitment was not flush and left a gap between the radio trim and dash. Looks fine in the driver's seat but was visible when sitting in passenger seat. The metal used is not solid and easily bends. I really wanted this one to work out.
