Ulti-mate garage and garage pro can be found on amazon and totallyfurniture.com for a good discount. Think I paid around $2500 shipped for the 12 piece pro set.

I think 2 car garages always turn out the best because folks have to get creative with space-saving techniques and careful selection of decor.

My advice based on my 2 car experience is to back your vehicle in (assuming you are a fairly precise driver) with the passenger door close to one side of the garage. Then have your wife pull in straight but with her passenger door close to the other side of the garage. Then you effectively have the maximum space between the driver's doors to open them and move through. When you work on a car, just pull the other out and center the one being worked on.

We did that with our pitiful old 18x18 garage and I was able to tuck my NSX so close to the wall that there was more than enough space for my wife to pull in without worry of doors hitting.

Not bad. Thanks for the advice. You do seem to have lots of room to the right of your car. Here's my garage taken in panoramic from the door looking out. You can get an idea of how close we are by looking at our back wheels. I'm close enough to the wall on my side that I would have to pull out for anyone to get in the passenger side.

Wow... You were not kidding! Even with the wide angle view the gap between the vehicles is so small. So what I was think was you have your wife pull in where your car is hugging the wall and then you switch with her and back in hugging the other wall.

As for cost effective cabinets... Costco has a deal on a 12 piece all metal NewAge cabinet set for $1499 right now. Black with grey or red doors to choose. I ordered them but still waiting. Others seem pleased with them.

Made some big changes to my current garage for the arrival of the his and hers M3s. Got a heck of a deal on all metal NewAge cabinets from Cosctco. After trying a few different configurations I finally found one that works perfectly. Also, repainted the walls. The only major item left is a black RaceDeck floor but the money isn't available yet. For now the ugly dolphin grey floor will have to remain. Then it'll be small things like decor and additional tools and gadgets...maybe some additional lighting.

Looks great, and familiar, so I might be biased. Enclose that water heater and we'll have pretty similar garage designs. You can even use the enclosure for long tool storage, lol.

I may end up doing the entire floor in Racedeck tiles, but for now the pads are working out to prevent hot tire pick up and such.

Old yeller is about to get ousted, but she understands, lol.

I see your 1983 Mitsubishi Starion. I bought a metallic blue one October 1982. It looked great. Unfortunately it spent more time in the shop than any other car I ever owned. I vowed to never buy another Mitsubishi again after that. I traded it in 1987 for a Toyota Supra. Now that was a nice car. Unfortunately Toyota lost their way preferring to concentrate on dull 4-wheeled appliances like Camrys and Corollas.

Very cool that you owned an '83. My first car was an '88 Conquest TSi. The one in the pic is actually a Conquest, too, not that it matters. I've owned as many as 3 at one time in the past, but I'm down to this one now, which I've had for 20 years. It's my first love in the auto-tuning side of my life. It's not a well supported platform in the aftermarket so everything has to be custom, which makes it fun. I've probably rebuilt the motor 5 times, wired up a full stand alone ECU, custom fabricated every little thing, swapped to poly bushings, coilovers, big brakes, huge turbo, all forged engine internals, etc etc. These things weigh like 2700lbs and mine makes 380ft/lbs at the wheels, but it's highly unrefined, lol.

Thanks! Yes, I have admired your garage and the water heater concealment you did. I tried paint matching all the pipes and such on mine to hide it into the wall a little but I may have to bite the bullet eventually and close it in.

Ah, just noticed you took mine for an '83. It's an '88 with an '83 hood. That's the only year they made that awesome thing, so they're highly sought after for the wide body guys. No idea why mitsu couldn't figure out how great the '83 hood would look on the '88. Here's a "real" pic of my car. I paid $1800 for it in pretty rough shape a long time ago. I've spent $6k on the paint alone, and untold tens of thousands of dollars on the rest . Interior hasn't even been addressed yet, but I'm quite proud of it, lol.

LOL this is my reality. I come back to this and to the nesting thread always when I have had the walk of shame when I have to face my garage. It is in a horrible shape, and clearly needing love.

My favorite M garage pic by far. thanks for posting this.

I'll bet it's better now than when it was new. It must be fairly hard to find parts; they weren't really that popular then, well at least not around here in Northern California.

Beginning of Garage, starting here and flooring next. Thinking about RaceDeck flooring although Tile or Marble about the same cost.
