the $100,000 mark, maybe $115k. (even though it IS in the supercar league in terms of performance). (BTW, base price for GT3 in the US is $177,000. "regular" GT3 is $136,000).

That is a shame, because the stock seats are not suitable for a 5/6 point harness, which is a must in such a car (track oriented). I guess US/Canada owners will either have to go with aftermarket seats or try to get the EU ones.

I edited my comment after you posted. These might actually take a harness - they are not strictly the standard seat. They've got the slots in the back for example, and I think the head rest is thinner.

The opening in the back rest is too low for the shoulder harnesses and the the top of the seat is too high IMO. Further, the seat cushion needs an opening for the 5th (and 6th) point anchor.

Using UK prices for standard and GTS, it is easy to figure out the premium for the GTS. It won't start less than $130k in the US. Fact is, it is more than double the price of a standard M4. The clubsport package will be a large sum as well. Yup. It is again this time around, another £22k. His $100kUS or $115kUS for GTS is way off. Last edited by hellrotm; 10-06-2015 at 09:27 PM.. |

Shows how great the chassis is in the M3/M4. What this does is shut up the magazine/internet racers. The awesome part is if you wanted to get this level of performance it wouldn't be too hard.

Wheels...
They are an legacy BBS design. I knew I'd seen them somewhere else previously...

Wonder if the US spec will be limited to 155mph

All joking aside - this is impressive that the M4 GTS achieved supercar level times on the Nordschleife... I would buy one in a heartbeat (crazy wing, front lip spoiler, acid orange rims and all) if I had had that kind of budget - yes - $150-170k is expensive - but it offers performance in the same league as other cars in that price range and above - not to mention even greater exclusivity (except for perhaps the 911 GT3RS). I could give a darn about what anyone else thinks about the acid orange (after all - I didn't let others' thoughts about AY stop me from getting that color)!
Anyway - given how M has tweaked the M electronic differential and other components vs. the "standard" M4 - makes me wonder what the exact changes will be to the ZCP. Interesting times ahead... |

I sincerely hope BMW builds an F80 M3 CRT based on the F82 GTS, and brings that to the US as well.

Also wonder if:
1) you could go for the sunroof instead of the CF roof for no additional charge just like on the "standard" M4? 2) will they make an M4 GTS vert? 3) M4 GTS F81 "Avant" (with rear spoiler on top of rear tailgate)? 4) M3 GTS with pass-through back seat for easy ski loading (extra downforce from rear wing would be very useful for added traction on those snowy mountain roads heading up to A-Basin... |
