Brilliant!
Aren't the 20s heavier than the 19s? Do they have any performance benefit over the 19s? I thought I read they were heavier and were actually detrimental to performance?
So BMW is pulling a double scam here?
?

The benefit for the wheels is essentially looks. You pay more for more expensive wheels, a power bump, etc.

I figure the weight of 666M slightly hurt performance, but the wider 265/285 rubber provides a greater benefit.

As a precision, only the tires are wider, the wheels are the same width.

I wonder if the ZCP would still come with the wider tires on the 19" wheels or if you go back down to normal M3 width tires?

Now, if only I could get the silver 19s with the Competition Package I would truly be happy. It is crazy how much the 666M wheels have grown on me and I now actually like them.

Finally! 20" ZCP wheels are ugly IMO, especially on F82/3. It was only a matter of time, they did the same for F10 M5 ZCP wheels where you could opt out.

Also, I doubt the second hand market for 666 wheels is going to be very strong. A lot of people don't like the design / size (not practical for bad roads).

It looks like I am going to just miss the ability to make this substitution on my build, but I wouldn't do it anyways. I still think 19s look better objectively, but the 20s fit the ZCP package better. 19s with ZCP is going to look like a regular car that someone blacked out. The wheels are a big part of the overall package.

They are selling for $3500ish with tires and tpms right now. Seems pretty good to me.

The design owns the 19s.

Kudos and to BMW for adding this option.

Curious why only black and not silver 19s though.

What are 19"s with tires and TPMS going for?

3k?

If someone really wants to order ZCP wheels and go through the trouble of selling or trading to pocket 500, I hope it goes smoothly for them.

Yeah really it should reduce the cost by going with 19s :

$2000-2200. I paid $2000 for 437s with brand new tires shipped when I sold my 15.

There isn't a single person typing on this forum that could tell the difference in a blind test on a racetrack the difference between the 18/19/20" wheels. The amateur driving ability of everyone here can't string lap times consistent enough together to even tell if a 200lb weight was stuffed in the trunk.

BMW gives the whiners exactly what they are looking for because the ZCP is so awful in their mind and then they bitch and moan calling BMW scammers because they didn't get a wheel discount but they will happily piss away money on mods and $6 coffees.

Our society is fucked with a capital F because the only thing people consistently want anymore is WHAT THEY CAN'T HAVE so they've been trained to throw temper tantrums in public forums to make themselves feel better for 5 minutes. Enjoy whatever BMW you have and buy a roll a duct tape to cover your keyboard so we don't have to hear your whining!

If you opt for the cp on 19's do you still get the wider tyres that you'd get with the 666's?? That's where these's most improvement in terms of traction is say!

Eh I think the rear diff tuning helps a lot too. But who knows right.

Im sure the 19s come with the same tires they already had.

Why would you say the 19's are a reduction in performance. If anything, the 19's are more performance oriented. They are a lot lighter and there are better tire options in the 19's. 20's are too big for track.

Also, they are a 1,200 dollar option, correct? So you are now getting them rolled into the ZCP option. I really don't see much of the dollar discrepancy.
Total agreement, now we have a choice...good to me.

...and both are crippled with tire choices for the track. Why do you think the GT3 Cup cars run 18's. Professional teams dont run 20's. 20's is for show plain and simple. Does it look cool, yes. I am referring to performance. The 19's are much lighter vs. the 20's and have better tire options. This is a fact.

I sure those GT3 cup cars are really missing that crisp turn-in from not using 20's.

I wonder if the adaptive suspension will therefore be tuned differently or there will be no difference in tune between the 19s and 20s which means the tuned adaptive suspension was a lie from the beginning
