No, fire was in my garage about five feet away. Lots of heat, smoke, and soot damage, but the car didn't burn.

What the hell happened?!? Good grief that's terrible, I feel your pain!! :O

Is your house OK? I'd be more concerned about that but I respect the love for your vehicle! Hope they don't total it but wow, you're going to need a whole respray, new molding, glass all the way around, headlights, maybe even a new roof! I bet your front bumper is melted too if the grills popped out like that. No telling what the heat did to all the rubber hoses, belts, etc. in the engine bay as well. The damage might just keep going and going and going.

Good luck, but I think she's a goner!

The car only had 6,800 miles. Fully built internals with less than 2,000 miles on the engine. Pure 2+, water meth, roll cage, carbon fiber racing buckets, coil overs, etc. I've got about $120k in the car. I'd be lucky to get half that from insurance.

Terrible! While I’ve suffered a house fire and the devastating loss that goes with it, I didn’t have the vehicles I have today. So sorry!

As for the weekend taking a vehicle from me, I do feel your pain more recent. Saturday I was rear ended by a motorcyclist on the freeway.. I’m not sure what condition he is in but my daily is likely totaled.

I hope he is as well, I rendered aid before and during the paramedics involvement. Not a lot of blood externally..

More on topic, I hope your car isn't salvaged!! Is the paint good enough to buff out, or, are there bubbles everywhere?

Def gonna need a full respray and probably everything made of rubber/plastic on the exterior will need to be replaced. They think they interior will be fine after a deodorization and steam cleaning. Luckily no heat damage inside that we could find. Will also need a new top mount and charge/J pipe and intakes.

The bill will be high, but KBB has it in the $65k range, so I am hopeful!

Thinner soaked rags that I left on the wooden steps of my garage next to an open cup of thinner with the brush soaking in it. They think it just spontaneously combusted.

Bummer man, sorry to hear. You can always buy it back and make it your track car.

Damn your garage got hot based on how the front grills and other plastic trim deformed!

Yeah, that's what I'm most worried about. It ran fine, but how much stress did the heat put on everything?
