Would anyone trade an F80 for a Hellcat?

I'm in the car business and believe it or not, the conversation has come up often enough I had to post.

To add one to the family fleet of vehicles is one thing, but as a replacement car, they must have hit thier head!

That depends on what you want from your vehicle (if it's a DD) or what you want to fill that vehicle slot with (assuming multiple vehicles).

I'm unsure why you are posting this question on the forums here.

It isn't like I'm against the idea but if you want to get a Hellcat, people would have gotten one already. A F80 is not a muscle car, a Hellcat is. These are completely different cars we are talking about here.

I tend to always wonder why people online like to compare apple to oranges. Two cars for two different purposes and different crowds.

Going fast in a straight line can be fun in quick doses, but the compromises in driving a Chrysler product is not at all appealing or worth it.

I will be in the market for my next car very soon and the M3 is at the top of the list so far. The only reason the Hellcat isn't on the list is because they don't make a 6mt for the charger.

Some of these responses make me sad to be a BMW owner. Believe it or not, other car makes produce some fine cars. Imo the Hellcat is a nice car.

It isn't that most people here probably hate the Hellcat (at least I hope not) it is the comparison is wrong.

American cars, especially Charger/Challenger/Camaro/Mustang are muscle cars for different crowds. A German car is for another crowd. When you buy/search for an new car you don't put these together.

These cars are different for a reason. People who has the annoying habit of shoving four door cars together aren't generally shopping their cars properly or just don't know what they want.

The issue here isn't the hellcat being a bad car. It's downgrading from an F80 to a hellcat. Those cars are great for a certain niche, but the interior and build quality of Chrysler are horrible. We've had 8 Chrysler cars in our household and everyone one of them had issues while new. That's besides the difference in refinement between BMW and Chrysler.

The Charger would be the better than the Challenger just because the Charger gets better traction and has four doors. Overall, the cars are in completely different worlds compared to the F80. I wouldn't even think of comparing the Hellcat to the BMW.
