F8X vs. i4 M50
Two totally different animals here, but I'm going to be curious and would love to hear other's opinions for fun! Like many others, not a fan of the new G8X so that's out the window for me. I'll be interested when the i4 m50 comes out next year how it stacks up as BMW's first electric M car. It'll still take a miracle for me to sell my F8X though
![]() The new tech, electric, and BMW's first marriage of electric + M interests me, how about the rest of you?

Forget about competing with the F8x. I4 M50 is slower and has less range than its EV competition. Even the new Kia EV has better specs.
This is the first EV BMW chose to put the “M” badge on. It is all they have. Not looking good. |

It’s still a beaver face with terrible exterior design. I don’t like anything new coming out of BMW so I’m looking at other brands.

The mesh grille looks like it was pulled from the G22 4-Series which some said looks worse than the G8x grille with the horizontal lines. IMO, neither of the beaver faces look good, so comparing the 2 is like comparing who's faster between a Fiat 500 and a Corolla Hybrid... does it matter? In any case, I don't think I will be buying an EV until the charging infrastructure catches up and the charge times are much faster. |

Just get a Model 3 Performance if you want fast EV.
I don’t see any reason to rush and hop on the EV train - there will be plenty of time for that. For now i will enjoy a real motor, turbos and exhaust sounds. |

Two very different experiences. I can see the i4 working well for those who already have a dedicated sports car (or multiple cars) in their garage, but for those that daily an M3, or even say a 340i, the experience of an EV just isn't there yet, even the Taycan that I drove, it handles beautifully and does a lot of things well, but it lacks certain factors of engagement and emotions to be a one car or "do it all" situation. Regardless however of how well it drives, its looks are an immediate failure for me to ever consider it.
