It will decrease mileage since you'll be smashing the go button more...but it increases smiles per gallon

Hey Halim! Is it safe to use CS+ map on California 91oct without any boostane or E85? Still trying to figure out a track map that I can safely use with CA 91oct. Can't decide between Stage 1 91oct ACN map with 20% boost reduction in all gears vs CS+ on CA 91oct (no boost reduction).

hi Halim@HCP , i've compared the top speed on the back straight of the same track using stock tune and Stage CS+ on my car (no other mods between the 2). the top speed with Stage CS+ is consistently 5km/h slower to my surprise! any idea pls?

I haven't driven the GTS because CS and CS+ were good enough but I drive CS+ for long trips or STG1 93
Is there a major difference between running 93OCT and 91OCT when flashing the DME to STG1? I've only tried 91OCT.

If I accelerate immediately it clunks and jerks. I think the throttle blips to around 1500 when it starts the engine again at traffic.

This is annoying, I got honked a few times by impatient drivers as I wait for the 2 seconds for the rpm to go back to idle before I accelerate. Before flash it use to start and resumes at idle rpm so I can accelerate immediately and doesn't blip the throttle.

Is this actually normal in the CS m3s?

Thanks
A bit late to reply to this.

I have the same issue. Its the GTS roar, its gets activated by the start stop LoL. I ended up coding start stop out.

If you really like the Auto Start Stop and the GTS roar is causing an issue, just disable the GTS Roar in your tune configuration. Set it to either OEM or OFF...

This is now fixed. I updated dme to latest I-step (19-07-539).

Had PTF nuked account and re-activate after. Everything now smooth as butter.

So BM3 can unlock the latest i-step now? I thought the March 2019+ versions were still causing issues.

Do you know why OEM CS produced more wtq than CS+ when you tested? CS+ is showing higher whp than CS, but why less wtq?

If you take a look at the graphs, you'd notice that the torque is only a minor bump down low otherwise those two torque curves follow each other pretty close until the CS+ starts to make better topend

2020 M4

Hi,
I am new to this thread. I currently have a 2014 Z4 35i and will be getting delivery of a 2020 non-cp M4 convertible sometime in November. I would like to flash either the CS or CS+ tunes for the car for 91 Oct here in AZ. I would initially like to remain somewhat conservative for my first tune.
My question relates to the current tunes and if they are now compatible with the 2020 M4 models due to questions relating to some sort of mfg. software update that occurred in March of 2019.

Thx

Halim@HCP
Is the CS+ safe to use on a non-modded stock F82 (non ZCP, Euro 2016 model)?
Currently running the CS tune and all looks good, but just wanted an idea as to how much more aggressive the CS+ is and can a stock non-CP car handle this in daily driving?

My F80 has all stock hardware. Since purchasing bm3 in February of this year I've flashed CS, CSL, GTS, CS+, and (currently at) Stage 1. All operated with 91 octane fuel. So far so good! I've had service done, reverted back to stock, and had no issues from my dealership. Your incoming 2020 F83 will be compatible with bm3.

Which flash do you like the best?
What about the software update to the S55 that happened in March 2019?

I don't see a 2020 CS+ flash for the 2020, only the 2019.

Thx.

They update each map so if I were to flash OEM CS today it would be the latest 2020 M4 OEM CS version. Originally bm3's M4 CS map wasn't OEM CS, it was what CS+ is now. So it's cool you can do OEM CS or get the power bump with CS+. In earlier pages of this thread I posted some differences I've noticed between the maps, although lots of what I was experiencing was just mental. Where I still believe an engine's output does have an affect on driving characteristics, I had initially thought bm3 changed the steering, traction, and differential but it's just the engine. If you have DCT, you can get OEM GTS transmission with bm3 (it's included with purchasing the engine maps). All other GTS calibrations I had a private tuner do just recently and now I'm noticing very big differences. Anyways....

My favorite map is Stage 1 91OCT for the power, but I also really like the OEM GTS map because it performs very smoothly and intelligently. I think OEM GTS and OEM CS offer the same exact output since Stock hardware doesn't have water injection, but (in my mind) GTS feels more engaging than CS. CS+ is great, but I prefer either OEM maps or Stage 1. They constantly update Stage 1 and it gets a little better with each flash. But I wouldn't recommend Stage 1 with Stock traction. OEM CS/GTS performs well with Stock traction, but Stage 1 didn't cooperate nearly as well until I had the Competition/GTS traction calibration coded. Now Stage 1 is performing excellent and it's really tough to go back to lower power! With Stock traction and Stage 1 flashed it was just too much for me to withstand so I ditched it and stuck with the OEM GTS map for awhile, but with ZCP/GTS traction and GTS steering/differential calibrations now coded Stage 1 is nothing short of fantastic!

Also, I dunno if you care about overrun (exhaust burble), but with Stock hardware I can still hear and feel the overrun just fine.
