nooo.. the color and body shape just doesnt create synergy. its like trying to cover up aggressive look, and it ends up being half assed..

If you look at the number of hits on early reviews on the internet (i.e., here on Bimmerpost), the reviews clearly have a big impact. UAE's review is positive, informative, and rings true. Better than what one gets in the auto rags these days. I had a fair number of responses (50k views) to my early review of the 335 which was the first because of Euro Delivery, and I would like to think that BMW sold more 335s because of it. Great cars will be reported as such by knowledgeable owner/reviewers.

Is it an unbiased review though?

The top automotive journalists (Chris Harris) drive the best of everything. And they didn't just pay tens of thousands of $$ on the car they're reviewing.

Just adding some perspective.

I agree. For sure it's risky for BMW -- what if the competition sunk low enough to sabotage a review...

With what Ferrari does (if you haven't read that Chris Harris Ferrari exposition from a few years ago, I'll find it for you), I wouldn't be surprised.

So I like the photos -- thanks Trutchy. Still on the fence regarding YMB. Looks interesting on the M3; I would opt for something else on the M4.

Another thing is that most of us are not driving 100s or 1000s of cars. We drive one or two on a regular basis and for most of us here it's a BMW and in many cases an M3 there by I rate UAE's opinion way higher than for example Chris Harris since his car memory and inputs are way more diluted in terms of doing the swap many of us are going to do. Furthermore I happen to agree on UAE's thoughts on the M6 which make his review even more valid to me personally. CH really like the M5 so I know his view on cars differs from mine in some cases. Just as the Top Gear guys though I think CH is very entertaining and like his reviews even when I don't agree but for buying input I prefer it coming from owners like UAE.

well said. I agree, I find use in both reviews. I also note that UAE has made some not so positive comments which to me, lend credibility. He has also made no bones about not enjoying his M6 to the point where he sold it, which to me also lends credibility as he is not just some BMW homer.

If nothing else, UAE's review put to rest ALLLLLL of the sound bashing. That alone did wonders for BMW's press.

Anyway, if an embargo was broken, then good. It was bound to happen. Believe bmw was just pushing out delivery and review dates out too much in relation to development completion, release announcement and production start

If really think about it, Bimmerpost has a strong following would be naive to think they wouldn't try to keep people interested on this forum by leaking cars. It's free marketing.

Exactly. That's why I put so much stock in his reviews. He is brutally honest. Honestly, he's the one that turned me on to AMGs. He loves BMW M just as much though. And Porsche.

Weird. :
This car will be delivered after the pdi today. Showroom manager told me they where now issued with the embargo but it makes little difference because the next cars are not due for weeks.
