My car got keyed :(

Well RIP. Just parked my car at the airport today to go on vacation, got out and noticed the entire drivers side was keyed. Was the same situation on the other side. Totally heart breaking and depressing. Figured it was someone at my apartment or work as it wasn't there when I washed the car yesterday evening.

Some areas it's down to the bare metal. Took the SD card from the dashcam with me so I can review the footage when I land. Really hope it caught the perp but I won't be able to do anything till I'm back. What a dumb way to start a vacation.

It has happened to me before and not a great feeling. I noticed my brother's E92 recently got keyed as well. Sucks, but as others say it is due to jealousy, envy or someone being intoxicated.

At this point I'm just hoping it's not someone from work because that would just take things to a whole another level. Im assuming jealously here though as I moved to a small town for work and stick out like a sore thumb with this car. Always feared this happening.

This actually happened in Ontario. Yep, have a beater coming for this exact situation but unfortunately didn't arrive in time. But ya small town Alberta isn't any better.

Sorry to hear. Having somebody damage your personal property really is a violating feeling. I've had my beater keyed twice at jail facilities by my own LEO partners or medical/psych staff. That's like twisting the knife. The lack of respect for other people's property is exactly why I purchased a beater in the first place; that and my high mileage commute.

sorry this happened to your man. not being hard but parking ur f80 unattended for so long just aint right. I know people will chime in, its not a aventador; but society is so low nowadays that anything can be keyed; because people just mad as hell nowadays

hope insurance covers it and you dont have three stage paint. but itll get fixed and just chalk it up to sick motha****S

Sorry to hear about this OP. Hopefully as others have stated insurance comes through for you. Try not to let it ruin your vacation and deal with it on your return.

if it was me I'd probably wouldn't even report it to the insurance company. As soon as you report it'll show up as non-accident damage and takes thousands off resale value. I'd just find an independent reputable shop that doesn't report damages and let them fix it.
