Finally got my F80 now it's time for the exhaust

Hello everyone! I just recently traded in my e92 for an f80 recently and I've started my modification process

I've finally narrowed down to the MPE and the AA rear section.

Down pipes will be installed soon.

Anyone have any experience with either of the two?

I hear there's a cracking issue with the MPE. is that true?

Thanks in advance!

Cracking issue is with the first version. Dont need to worry about it if you are buying new. If buying used, look for V2, it has extra brace supports.

No experience with AA and MPE but it should sound sweet. I have the Dinan x pipe and exhaust. its a deeper and quieter exhaust tone. The MPE has a very raspy, throaty tone but paired with the AA midpipe, it should give it a little deeper tone.

Probably V1 since I have a 2016 and it came on the car, but I honestly have no idea. Haven't noticed any cracks yet, but I also haven't examined it closely (haven't had a need).

Should look into Remus exhaust if you're going with the AA midpipe, sounds way better than a lot of these other midpipe muffler combos.

Might want to hold off as AA is releasing their EL MP very soon.

multiple threads about this, MPE rears are useless without at least part of the MPE mid. Even custom is difficult because of Titanium MPE

Only downside of the AA Rear Section (the 3-can) is that it's not valved. Many people pair the AA Single Mid with a Remus, Dinan or similar dual valved 1-can rear section so they have a "quiet mode" for morning/wife/mom.

I like the low loud sound so I picked a full AA Signature, which is single valve. I don't care that the exhaust exits one side or the other and not both... It's full 3.5in and has minimal restrictions. I use a resistor plug to keep from getting a fault code for the one missing flap connection.

As for the new AA Equal Length "Anaconda" (as I call it) mid pipes they keep the higher pitched sound that I didn't want. I hear they still remove rasp and drone for those that like the classic S55 tone.
