expected cost of intake/downpipe/chargepipe install

I'm starting to look around for a shop to do an install for these three parts and I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what costs to expect. so far I've been quoted 750 but I feel that's high.

750 total for all three? That sounds low to me. Typical labor quotes for downpipes alone are between 7-9 hours. If you found a shop to do all three for only 750 I’d take it.

It's a fair price for all three, but you could easily do the intake and CPs yourself.

are you sure about 7-9hrs for downpipe? I saw some DIY video that didnt make it seem too hard with the proper tools.

they broke down the individual pricing and i feel like it's not too bad but dont the cp and intake both have pretty much the same parts to take out in order to replace? I've also looked up videos to do it myself but I dont know if I trust myself to work on anything related to the turbos.

When I had mine done three different shops quoted me. All said 7-9 hours. Obviously we know it doesn’t take that long but that’s what they charge.

You could EASILY do the intakes yourself even with 0 car experience. And charge pipes are not much harder. Downpipes aren’t hard either, just time consuming.

Yes the passenger side intake box has to come out and both CPs to get the plastic fuel injector system cover off. The top side O2 sensors are under that cover. If you can get only the DPs for $500 then do it. Changing chargepipes and intake should take an inexperienced person 2-3 hours. Watch the Kies video, so easy to DIY. You'll feel good 'cause you did the work...

Labor for DP install is 2-3 hours not 7-9.

Around here shop charge $250-$400 for DP install, so they're almost charging you $400 for CP and Intake install which don't even take that long. Do the intake and CP install yourself.

exactly my thoughts and yes, you are correct. they are charging 200each for cp and intake. got quoted 350 for downpipe install if I do together with cp but without, 400-450. he said it would take an entire day or two depending on work load but I feel like it was a bs answer as the other guy mentioned above.

an update for anyone interested. at the recommendation of another shop owner, I gave a call to Euro Auto Spot in San Diego. They quoted me a much more reasonable price.

$114 each for intake and chargepipe
$228 for downpipe

looking at the costs I'm guessing they charge $114 an hour and estimated a total of 4 hrs?

$228 for DP is a deal!

Which CP, DP and Intake are you going with? I am in the market for the same.

I bought CTS turbo brand. Doesnt seem to be one of them commonly purchased brands on the forum but hopefully it's just as good.

Do your own intake and CP install its not hard at all. The F8x engine bay just looks more intimidating than it really is.

I'd get the downpipes done by them for $228. Just because it's so painful to do it on floor jacks. The other 2 you can knock it out by yourself watching some YouTube videos and even some DIY tutorials on the forums (here).

No issues so far. I don't track the car or anything like that so I'm not sure about any power gains if that's what you were asking about.
