That’s my only beef with Porsche, the way they allocate special editions. It seems that nearly all of the real special editions are offered to people who don’t seem to really appreciate the car’s abilities/engineering or drive them as intended…

20+ pages on removing the rear wing off the GT3 and gazillion Instagram PTS accounts says everything about the community.

But, to be fair, there are probably more 991 GT3s at the Nordschleife than VW Golfs these days. All is not lost.

Keep seeing new iX3's every day, lots of people trying them out at the dealers nearby and they're selling for a competitive price too.

I think that will be a hit here for BMW.

i've talked to other who say they'd pick it 10/10 times over the f type r, amg gts, and M8

looks like you can find them for low 70s used. and being a toyota product i dont care about mileage.

See these regularly, always noticeable. Sound just as good from the cockpit as they do outside. think it would be a great buy.

Funny how the auto addict mind works. Always just one car away from finding the right balance. Lexus to offset the GT3 sounds about right.

Well, it's going to be only US and CDN customers buying the full-length system, that's for sure... which is probably the majority of all MPE buyers.

I think it's just too polarising and even requires trimming the bumper.

I'd like to find out some sales statistics of M Performance parts, tbh.

Probably my new favorite car series on Youtube. Some great videos on the interesting and detailed history of cool cars from the 80's and 90's.

I’m thinking same way as you if I don’t get my GT3 - waiting on allocation and not looking promising. If I don’t get it, then will most likely keep my 911T which is an amazing car and trade in F80 for LC500 or new Z06 which will have 5.5L NA V8. I’m also waiting to see what they do with LC500 refresh which should be coming by next year.

I have driven LC extensively on back roads - it is a pleasure to drive and the exhaust/intake sounds are amazing. The cabin is very comfortable with great driving position. Its not a track car or something you drive at limit but its playful enough and is very fun to drive in a spirited manner.

Matt Farah did great review on it which is what i felt when i drove it.

Those LC500s are huge and very long. The hood is about as long or longer than an Aston Martin V12s hood but with 4 less cylinders. Not my cup of tea.

yeah i still need to drive one. i live in the rural midwest and the nearest lexus dealer is 2 hours away. i'll make it happen one of these days. i've watched nearly every review of the car and they all praise it tremendously (unlike the f80 which was mixed). I'm sure i won't be disappointed.

i am worried a bit about the refresh or LCF dropping the value of the current 500. Thats really the only negative.

z06 would be amazing, tons of performance, flat plane crank sound, and ive heard the C8 mag ride is very very impressive too. people may have to second guess their decisions to buy a used 458 or huracan out of warranty

I recommend you drive it.
The hood slopes down and there are zero issues with visibility - MUCH better than AMG-GT or Supra which I have also driven.

The LC500 comes with Rear Wheel Steer, not sure if its option but the one I drove had it. Therefore it drives and handles like its half the size. The brakes are also very stellar with firm pedal like BMW M cars.

If you look at older Lexus cars - GSF, RCF, ISF - they are very good at holding value. I don’t see the LC500 depreciating at all. I think right now its highly overlooked mostly bec of the badge. In a few years, ppl will realize these were special cars. They are also very rare.

If you buy used, get one with Performance Package which is harder to find.

Refresh will be minimal in terms of styling i think - different headlights, tails and maybe bumper. The big change will hopefully be touchscreen screen inside.

Seen that same tank at that C&C up there. Went on a fun drive to Pretty Boy Damn too that same day with a local M club.

On the topic of electric and hydrogen cars, the European Commission (EC) has put forward a "Fit for 55" proposal, a future plan to reduce greenhouse gasses in basically every part of people's lives in the EU, including a massive reduction of emissions in the automotive industry. This is for passenger and light commercial vehicles under 3.5 tonnes.

I've not read the official document yet, but here some snippets from a few articles.

Quote:
... end date for the internal combustion engine from 2035, mandating a 55 percent fleet-wide CO2 emissions cut from 2030 on the way to 100 percent target five years later (source)
Quote:
Based on Commission calculations, a further decrease of car CO2 emissions to -50% in 2030 would require some 6 million publicly-available charging points. With less than 225,000 available today, that translates into a staggering 27-fold increase in less than a decade (source)
Quote:
The Commission wants to oblige the states to guarantee at least one high-performance charging station at intervals of no more than 60 kilometres along the most important European motorways by the end of 2025. For heavy transport, the member states are also to ensure that there is a hydrogen filling station every 150 kilometres. (source)
Well, given that petrol stations on the German Autobahn are often spread out hundreds of kilometres from each other and ESPECIALLY given this data below...

... I think they're a bit fucked in the head over in Brussels. I'm baffled.

Also, I've read - forgot the source - that the EC have not taken into consideration synthetic or e-fuels yet so this is all just targeted towards BEVs and FCEVs. Moreover, the battery value chain in Europe is still very undeveloped and 90-something percent of batteries are imported from Asia. They're just now only starting to put together plans to combat the Asian companies. Good stuff.

Bosch Germany is now using their renewable synthetic fuel for their corporate fleet and is going to start supplying it to selected petrol stations. I wouldn't be surprised if Bosch was behind Porsche's eFuel. It can be put into any petrol engine and use current petrol stations, it's an interesting concept, but I guess it's not as interesting or news-worthy as a battery vehicle.

Go buy your pure ICE sports cars right now.

Ugh, what's wrong with these people...

Eco terrorists all of them, batteries suck for the environment and we can't even supply the power for this shit as it already stands...
