I recently bought a CPO M4 convertible, there were a few issues with the dealer and some service that should have been done by the dealer before I took delivery since it is a CPO.

I searched the threads and didn't see anything on the F83, is the trunk lid supposed to fully open like it does on my F30 M sport 335i? It pops open about 1/2" when you press the trunk release.

Second, is there any tool to read the service codes that would work for BMW & Mini?

Due to the convertible trunk mechanism I believe you're going to do the lifting after the half of opening. I think most scan tool should be able to read the bmw codes. I like the schwaben scan tool bmw.

Thanks, I just had one of my kids Minis battery replaced. This scanner would have paid for itself since I can reset the battery with it

This is correct. The trunk just pops and you have to manually lift it.

I have been using an OBDLink MX for code reading, resetting and overall vehicle scanning.

Agree, you have to lift the trunk lid. That said, why is the top down and the windows up?

That was an early morning pic. It stays nice and warm even on the freeway, we don't get to cold though in SoCal
