BMW only has a pull ahead program on SAVs at the moment.

Not at the moment but BMW resets their programs on a month to month basis so it could return.

I'm located on the east coast. Any reason why my dealership says that BMW is telling them no on the MSD transfers?

Yeah. Too late. Picking up the car we ordered for PCD in SC soon. It is what it is I guess.

The difference between putting money down to lower your payment is if your car got stolen or was a total loss the MSD’s get returned to you and your down payment which is really a prepayment is lost.
what happens if you default on the lease? What happens to the MSD? Car gets repo'd and then they assess the cost/fees against the MSD balance?

Not sure if this helps, but I have an x5 on order and the dealer (NJ dealer) is rolling the MSD's from my current lease into the x5 lease. They said there was no issue doing so because I was "grandfathered" in.

Thanks. I think I'm stuck. I pick up the car on Friday and they continue to say there is nothing they can do.

Sorry to bother you.. I called my CA and he is not aware of this MSD transfer option. Based on the finance person at the dealership, there is no way for them to get funds from BMW FS. They tried and nothing.
I called BMWFS and they told me that they have no info on this and that the only people who can get this info is CA or dealer's finance person as they can call Lease End Group or Center Sales... here is part of my conversation:
Me: "who I am getting a refund check from for MSDs...
FS guy: it will be coming from FS...
Me: I asked who am calling...
FS Guy: BMW FS
Me: so you guys have no policy or info on MSDs
FS Guy: No

Just another data point here. I had 7 MSDs in a 2015 M4 coming off lease on 4 May.
My new M3 arrived on 5 April. So while I was told I could roll my old MSDs over, from the banking perspective this was not possible. Instead I had to fork new money into 7 new MSDs.

I got my refund check for the old MSDs from BMWFS late last week.

Ultimately this means the whole 'roll over' thing isn't really a requirement. Yes, I was grandfathered in, but the money itself wasn't. Just a matter of semantics, I suppose.

So 5 MSD max is not the case since you were able to submit 7 new MSDs?
Also, was the rate reduction 0.00005 per MSD or old 0.00007
Thanks

I am a dealer. Tell them to call BMW Financial RCC to confirm. Since you are grandfathered in, you will be eligible. Max 7 MSD's at .00005 reduction per MSD is a .00035 total reduction.

Yes I was able to buy 7 MSDs on the 2018 M3. They did not disclose the buy down rate per MSD to me, nor did I ask. However I did calculate it myself and it was indeed .0005 instead of the old .0007.

So while MSDs are nice, they are not as lucrative as they once were.

Yes, this has been around the forums for a while, but thanks for the heads up anyways!

Is there any way for those of us who had MSDs in the past to retro-grandfather back in?

Unfortunately No. Strictly for current BMW FS lease owners that are utilizing MSDs

I got a special buy back on my f10 M5 lease (got out 120 days early). Leased a new M550i. BMW FS sent me a check for the MSD on my M5, and I put 7 new ones down on the M550i.
