CPO M4? Unlimited mileage, 5 year warranty...

So I'm browsing the bmwusa.com CPO listings and came across this:

It's got 25,506 miles on it which is actually not bad for a 2 year old M4. There are other M4s with up to 70,000 miles on them for a 2015 model that's going for $36k.

I'm wondering - normally high mileage on a performance car would be an instant "nah, this thing's been driven hard and put away wet by someone else..." but if it's warrantied for 5 years and unlimited miles I would think that by the end of that 5 years I'll probably have replaced the entire drivetrain and gotten essentially a whole new car by that point if anything major starts breaking - and I'd fully expect some otherwise-costly repairs to crop up in between say, 80k - 120k miles, which is definitely doable within 5 years. I haven't seen that warranty posted on any other M4 listings though so I'm trying to figure out if it's a BMW thing or just that one dealership, and also what you guys and gals think of the mileage / warranty overall.

That's 5 years total from original in service date. Base warranty period of 4 years + 1 year extended. Not 5 years from date of resale.

Edit: and it is actually one year unlimited mileage that kicks in when base warranty expires at earlier of 4 years or 50,000 miles.

Ahhhh gotcha. Well, still - let's say the 7 year then. It's a 2016 with 25k miles...that gives me till 2023...? Even the 5 year till 2021...if it's unlimited miles I'd be a lot less hesitant to take it on extended road trips or something (ex: California to Colorado, loop back through Montana, Seattle, then down the west coast).

25k miles seems about average. Length of warranty will depend on how much you drive.

For example, if you drove it 25k miles in the first year such that you reached the end of the new car warranty, I think you’d get one more year with unlimited miles after that, so through 2020. If you drove it at the pace of the previous owner, yes, you’d get to 2021 with the CPO. 2 year remaining new car warranty + 1 year CPO.

CPO is an extended warranty through BMW. There's a check list they go through for it to be eligible for CPO. From what I've heard most dealers don't CPO M cars because the cost isn't worth it; the dealer has to pay to CPO a car.

The CPO warranty has limited coverage and a deductible, so it's not as good as the new car warranty, but could cover you for some big cost that might happen. The CPO warranty kicks in after the new car warranty ends. It is 5 years from the original in service date, which appears to be early January 2016 for that car.

You can pay a bit extra to extend the CPO warranty to 6 year and improve the coverage to cover more parts. The warranty is exlusionary, so if it's not listed in the not covered list then it is covered under the warranty.

Looks like in service date was 12/24/2015, so CPO will cover you 12/24/2020 unlimited miles if you don't extend it

Does anybody know how much CPO costs the dealer on an F80?

Figured this would be good info for negotiating purposes. Maybe someone can receive a discount in lieu of CPO i.e. stripping the certification prior to purchase?

I was told about $4k to CPO. The warranty starts at when the car is built, so it makes a big difference if the car was built in the beginning of the MY or the end. I'm not sure if they increased the $75 deductible.
