The people I see with these plates are almost always a certain demographic. Would someone like to chime in on the fascination with them?

Yellow on black looks much better than the regular plates (red on white) IMO. My only reason for getting them was just the color combo not the customization. In fact, I customized my plate in a way that it looks almost like a regular CA plate in terms of the letter & number placement on the plate. At the same time it still represents something special to me. If someone saw my plate, they would think I got a random legacy plate. I just didn't want to get a custom plate that reads something because I don't people to easily remember my plate, especially considering how I drive

I have a "goddamnit why do I have my plates on" a couple times a week, I think they save me from myself at times due to me considering the memorability of them

I wish it was that easy. It's very strict out here in the SF bay area. I had no plates (car was 3 months old and I received my new plates but was lazy to put them on) and the parking enforcement officer actually ran my VIN # and issued me a ticket. Car was parked in front of my house too.

Has never been a problem for me, although I almost never street-park in SF. However, tickets are the least of my concern. I don't want a homeless thing pissing on my car.

Ah man...

So, funny story...

Few years back in Chicago we were going to Gibsons and my boy parked his new s class on the street.

Homeless guy walks up and unzips...

He yells over to him "my man, there's a c-class around the corner. Go piss in that!"

Guy walked around corner and pissed on the c-class.
